Being Grateful and Reflective

On occasion, my marbles will spill all over the place. I wrote a poem this morning. It's about feeling down, but not necessarily out:

Sometimes, it's good to have a reminder that this life is only temporary. We have a short time here, and should make the most of it. While I don't want a repeat of this summer , I do need a reminder that I must take care of myself, before I can take care of others. (Kind of like oxygen masks on an airplane...you cannot help anyone if you can't breathe.)

Things I am grateful for:

God, for allowing me to live, when others in similar instances, have died
Being alive
My family, especially my kids for not giving up on me.
My friends
Finding Writing.Com, and all of my new friends.

Sobering, reflective, grateful. I am bouncing back, and have a bit of my strange(?) sense of humor coming back to me as well.

Enough marbles scattering for today. I have a "Township" empire to build, and lots of reviewing to do...

Two steps forward, only 1/2 a step back - I'll take it.
