| Hoot Owl Hoot owl on the wing, silent in the night, searching dark places, innocents abroad, secret rodent prey, added to the hoard, downy nestlings wait, all of one accord. Named for whispered death, feathered Damocles, dark-robed she races, hunger on her breath, murder in her heart, stealthiest Macbeth, nature’s sharpened sword, nightly her reward.
