| Dan groaned, reading the evening paper. A hit-and-run dominated the front page, followed by a string of robberies and an ongoing corruption case at City Hall. War erupted in a distant country. Riots broke out in the next town. “Will the world ever be at peace?” He threw aside the paper. One man's efforts against such tragedies… nearly hopeless. He stepped into his backyard, glowing under the setting sun. Robins sang in oak trees. Marigolds lined gravel paths. Violet clematis scrambled over the picket fence.
