Back To The Same Ol' Stuff


         Here I am, back to the same ol' stuff.  What stuff you ask?  Well, I'll tell you, as I hang my head in shame...

         Remember that back surgery I had in October, and after it I said, "The surgery was a success!  My back pain is gone!"?  Well, I spoke too soon.  The pain has returned, but it's not in the same place in my back, so maybe you can count the surgery as a success.  I've spent the last 2 nights sleeping on our love seat (Thank God it's a powered love seat too!), I moved to it in the middle of the night because I didn't want my tossing and turning to wake Kathy, or keep her awake as the case may be.  And yeah, the pain has been the Sciatica nerve the past couple of nights.  So maybe it is in the same place.  I'll tell you, it's hard to say where it's at, at times.  I do know I cannot get comfortable enough to fall asleep, even after taking Tylenol, Tylenol-PM, Tylenol-III, or Tramadol.  No, I don't take them together, I take one or the other.  Nothing has really done the job so far.  I just realized I haven't tried taking the muscle relaxer I was prescribed, Tizanidine.  It's okay though, I have the Love Seat standing by tonight, and every night really.

         The problem with taking those pain killers is this.  They are not a cure for the cause of the pain.  I consider them a 'bandaid' fix.  But hey, I have to get some rest somehow, right?

         On a completely different subject, we opened the house for a couple of hours today.  Yep, middle of December and we opened the front door, with storm door shut, the window covering the screen down some to let fresh air in.  We like doing this about once a month to bring fresh air in.  Who am I kidding?  We opened the house up because the outside temp was 64!  The doors are closed now, the temp is dropping to about 15 tonight.  Brrrrr.  It's 32 right now, so having it closed back up is a good thing.  Still, it was nice having the place opened for a little bit.  It will be cold tomorrow too.  We wanted to get it open while we could because it might be March before we can open it again.
