Swirl of a Schottis In a twirl of skirt, a flutter of eyelashes, she waltzes across a hardwood floor: fastfastfast s l o w s l o w s l o w (fastfastfast once more) She turns in a swirl of a schottis to the violins' squeal, to an evening star. Outside, all fades to orange and midnight blue the air gone still; still warm, she's breathless. Inside, she collapses into a chair, inhales deeply, rests a beat, stands to prance by the door: fastfastfast s l o w s l o w s l o w swirls and twirls once more. © 2008 Kåre Enga [165.96] 2008-05-31 A schottis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOl5QR9PFXw Mora, Sweden: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LtzXTE_DBo Today is Midsummer , which is very special in Scandinavia.
