April 2 - Writing In The Greenroom

Quiet flutters of paper
Pens gliding across the surface
Fingers clinking over keyboards
All of us hard at work
In world of our own making

Some of us write
Like a storm is raging
Propelling us forward
Trying to gather in the bits and phrases
Before they get lost in the wind.

Others of us sit idly
Waiting...
Waiting for the muse to venture in
Or considering which way to go
Or simply listening to our characters
As they work through some issue.

Not a word is spoken
Here in this morning sanctuary
Time seems to stand still
Yet under the surface of this calm
Stories ebb and flow
We ride the waves
Dragging in what we can.
