Dance of the Jellyfish

Dance of the Jellyfish

Ballerinas ascending,
descending a tubular tank;
their undulating umbrella-shaped bodies
and long tentacles sway
to an intrinsic rhythm.

An intrinsic rhythm rearranges
their bodies
into more suitable postions,
as they float inside out,
upside down,
sidways,
and right side up
in their interpretation
of life's choreography.

I wrote this on 15 Mashiyyat 160 B.E. It was inspired by a visit to the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
