PROMPT March 6th Today I'm pulling a prompt straight from the Challenge War Chest! Begin your entry with the following: If I had known then what I know now, I would have never ... If I had known then what I know now, I would have never ... I, probably, would not do anything different. I repeated this phrase a lot when I was younger (under 50), but after turning 50 I realized--considering that I have repeated a number of mistakes (at least two times) throughout my life--I would no do anything different. Once I realized that, it dawned on me that the mistakes I made are what made me the person I am today. It takes too long to retrace my steps over the shards of memory, and across the petrified tears of yesterday. It takes too long to follow paths covered with the dust of history, littered with scraps of illusions, and strewn with the bones of vain imaginings. |
