Being Retired now, I thought that it was time for a new name to this Blog

Talk about perks, my career had one of the best I can think of! I traveled in the course of business, delivering classes for my employer. I was a Senior Training Specialist for Motorola Solutions, and taught classes on a wide variety of subjects centered around 2-way radio communications. I knew that when the time arrived that I would retire, and I have. I've always said that if you can't stand the heat in the kitchen, get out! I can't handle the heat anymore. I was qualified to deliver approximately 32 different classes, but about half of those were 'Legacy' classes, and were not in demand anymore. My students were technicians, those who maintained, programmed, calibrated, and repaired large 2-way radio systems. Some of these systems are statewide, and use TCP-IP networking to allow sites to communicate with others. Some are small, traditional type radio sites. The size doesn't matter, in each case the systems must be kept operational at all times, since many of them are Public Safety Systems. So I traveled, sometimes frequently, 3-4 weeks in a row.... where have I been?

Some of the places I've been (I can't list them all here, the list would be too long) are pretty interesting.

         1. Hawaii - Four times, Oahu, Maui (twice), and the Big Island
         2. BangkokThailand, twice
         3. Frankfurt Germany, twice
         4. Algiers, Algeria
         5. Melbourne Australia
         6. Bismarck North Dakota, Summer & Winter
         7. Los Angeles, Too many times to count
         8. Washington DC, Too many times to count
         9. Seattle three or four times
         10. Texas, all over the state
         11. Florida, all over the state
         12. New Mexico, HOME! Several times

Time Travel?

Well, I wrote an entry about CERN, and the possible discovery of Parallel Universes. I've since come to the conclusion that since it wasn't a post on the CERN Website, it was all conjecture. That's the polite way of saying it was, at best, a Wrinkle Fish. If you Google Wrinklefish, you won't see the correct photo of one. Use your imagination, and know this came from shipmates on my second Submarine. Or, ask me in an email, and I'll reply.

This is another theory that has fascinated me for years. Probably during me teens, when I first read H.G. Wells, The Time Machine. The video below is a take on this idea, and is a bit out there.

The video does make an interesting point, but I'm not a UNIX guy, so I can't vouch for it's facts. Apparently it centers around a 32-bit UNIX system. A 32-bit UNIX system counts time in Seconds, and they all have a common 'start date'. But it can only recognize 2,147,483,647 seconds, which is Tuesday, January 19, 2038. I warned you that it's a bit out there.

The video centers around someone named John Titor. Google him and you'll see that I was right about it being Wrinklefish material. Do you smell what I do?

That link makes me smile though. It says:

Titor described his time machine on several occasions. In one early post, he described it as a "stationary mass, temporal displacement unit powered by two top-spin, dual positive singularities", (Flux Capacitors?) and producing a "standard off-set Tipler sinusoid".

The earliest post was more explicit, detailing the components of the machine:

Two magnetic housing units for the dual micro singularities

An electron injection manifold, to alter mass and gravity of the micro singularities
A cooling and X-ray venting system

Gravity sensors, or a variable gravity lock (VGL)

         Four main cesium clocks

         Three main computer units

According to the posts, the device was installed in the rear of a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. Later posts mentioned a 1987 truck with four-wheel drive. (I wonder if they ever installed it in a DeLorean, and had to reach 88 mph?)

It's an entertaining post in Wikipedia, the video has too much Wrinklefish material in it to be taken seriously. See what you think...
