An attempt at Haiku's each day beginning 2013 |
This is a well-intentioned beginning to what I hope will be a haiku a day, or thereabouts. |
Hot daze of summer here before we realize it beads of sweat appear |
Devil winds whistling Wrong tune for Maypole dancing Ribbons move alone OR Devil winds blowing May Day dancing postponed Bowing to the breeze |
morning's bridal veil lifting only for sun's kisses making mother smile |
The spotlight is on the stage is set for summer the world is waiting |
Thick gray curtain hangs They call it marine layer I say depressing |
morning shadows cast aspersions on cloudless days offering relief |
artificial turf blades of bright green plastic gleam fooling eyes, not touch |
twigs and leaves dropped new home plans are abandoned in favor of old |
Weepy skies portend Shorter day turning to night Hiding a full moon |
Black bats swooping down sweeping the dusk of insects lunar rays intact |
Blue jay comes to eat red-headed woodpeckers knock yellow sun wakes up |
deer silhouetted against a desert sunset our reality |
Tree limbs screaming loose wind howling through deep canyons chain saws buzzed loudly |
break out sunglasses sunshine illuminates dark a glorious day |
windy gutters hum hard standing up to a breeze night blows into day |
Slight breezes ruffle feathers and new flowers too sun breaks nights firm hold |
heavenly creamed fog keeping down frantic people stirring tax worries |
yellow wings streaking against gray fog coverlet making great contrasts |
Fog blanket everywhere silencing all natures sounds a moment of peace. |
Baby dreams shattered wind blown palm fronds releasing eggs now broken poolside |
