An attempt at Haiku's each day beginning 2013 |
This is a well-intentioned beginning to what I hope will be a haiku a day, or thereabouts. |
mother nature’s law deems silence is an order ringing phone intrudes |
eyebrow clouds rise up wondering what kind of day it's clearly winter |
white clouds hovering jagged hills threaten to break delicate shadows |
rain gutter downspout white lily freely unfurls first victim of spring |
It's not a white-out more of a grey-out misting keeping my world small |
a soft mist rains down lulling dreams out of hiding the sky cries gently |
total gray oppression between earth and the blue sky a winter sandwich |
Orange pops on green trees deer stealthily taste the juice then manicure leaves. |
Hair branches reach up bare of their leafy tendrils gnarled by winter. |
strange thoughts permeate almost hazy dreams of sleeping awaken by my drool. |
lightweight paddles break glassy cold waters today his strokes are healthy |
Longer days portend trips coddled days and lazy nights February hurry. |
chocolate mountains rise to meet robin blue skies grey water reflects. |
Red wings are circling over treetops of ravens black blips against green |
cold air needling making me immune later for the pokes and prods |
The cold is nothing compared to phone reception when you call for help. |
Hairs standing on end Static electricity Speaks clearly to me. |
Loud and very clear I heard your smile coming through crackling phone lines. |
Broken branches fell covering the road to home old man winter's here. |
The smile in his eyes made it all worthwhile to see. Freedom's in the heart. |
