My random thoughts and reactions to my everyday life. The voices like a forum.

I do not know quite what happened or when , but my hubby and I now qualify for seniors' discounts at some venues. This creates a quandary; in order to save money, but not face, we have to admit to our age. HMMMM..... We definitely do not consider ourselves to be old. In this day and age ,when people as a whole are living longer and healthier lives why are 'young seniors', those in their fifties, like moi, considered 'old'?? It's so true that age is just a perception! "Maturity" is very objective/subjective, and I object! Whew, a few years have skittered by since I composed this biography block. Those "fifties" are in the rear view mirror and they are distant, fond memories. Oh, I do not plan to stop writing any time soon.

WHEW! A brief, but powerful thunderstorm rolled through my humid neck of the woods, and knocked out the hydro. The first time was just a tease. The second power outage lasted almost four whole hours. Anyway, tonight's blog response will be short and sweet. I do not wish to incur the wrath of the electricity gods by lingering... As I typed this, I also made a pot of tea, and warmed a few cookies. If I am plunged again into the darkness, I will be okay. PROMPT:The Wildcard Round! Last night, another bunch of WDC authors were promoted to Preferred Author! Go out and get to know them...post a note in their notebook, say hi and congratulate them.
         I visited the port of Robert Baker Christopher Roy Denton Author Icon and left him a greeting. {tag:458786} I have discovered that he is from Yorkshire Uk, and he describes himself as a "chocoholic writer" who is a wimp until he writes fiction. Ah, who isn't braver behind their words? I read and reviewed a funny piece of his, 'Harry the Hamster'. Review of "Harry the Hamster" Open in New Window
         I also popped into the portfolio of Jay O'Toole also known as Jay O'Toole Author Icon Jay is based in Georgia, and lists his birthplace as Texas. Apparently, he is a gardener. I read and reviewed one of his poems, a lovely piece about his belief that he will be reunited with his mother in Heaven. Review of "See You in the Morning, Mom!" Open in New Window Oh, I left him a message in his notebook, too. {tag:458792}
         Congrats to all the worthy yellow cases.
