| PROMPT May 15th Many fairy tales are often based in truth. Research the true story behind your favorite fairy tale and share it with your readers. What lesson or warning was the tale trying to impart? I know that I’ve read just about every fairy tale and fable to my kids over the years, just as I was told them and my parents and their parents before them. It’s a wonderful thing that some things still get passed on in some form or other. These days it’s usually through film rather than books. I hope the same stories continue be told and to evolve. The only nursery rhyme’s origin I’m pretty sure of is Ring a ring a Rosie. It’s supposed to be about the great plague in 1665. The ring of roses is the rash that people got, and “Atishoo, atishoo, we all fall down “ is when they died from the disease. |
