Prompt: Have fun with these nine words: junket, exhibition, care, introduce, sketch, door. flock, wreck and discrimination.

I realised this week whilst watching the news, how many politicians are flying all over the world just now, and all of them in a hurry.
President Trump even did a rushed interview whilst poking his head around the door of the plane.
I know there’s a lot going on in the political realm and numerous countries’ leaders need to travel but I wondered how many of the flock are necessary and aren’t on a junket paid for by tax payers.

I enjoy watching the body language as they introduce themselves to each other. They take care not to make an exhibition of themselves by making some faux par which could appear the next day on the world’s media. The diplomats amongst them do what they do best by ensuring there’s no discrimination shown to anyone.
Air travel has never been a favourite mode of travel for me as I always look a wreck after flying. But I suppose the pollies always fly business class and can at least sleep. To pass the time I sketch people sleeping, often with mouths wide open.

Prompt:
What drains your energy in your life? And in what ways can you stay grounded in stressful situations?

Other people drain my energy, especially ones who seem to enjoy making their lives and those of others miserable. I'm talking of someone very close to me and today she has gone too far. I've had to come to a conclusion, one I've reached many times and stupidly forgotten or should it be forgiven?
My husband and I find that a little walk in the park, watching little children play keeps us grounded and we try not to project what those innocent children's future will bring.

Stress is a killer and this week has been a bit of a test. We lost our beautiful dog after over 12 years. She has never given us stress in fact she's absorbed much of our stress in her own calm way. We certainly could have done without any added stress this week. This has only served to prove the time has come to say "No More!

Every year despite the book about the deaths that occur each year climbing people pay thousands of dollars to climb Mt. Everest. If you had the money would you try or not? What do you think the fascination is with climbing?

I don’t, and never have had the ability to climb a mountain. Yet I can understand the motives of those who can climb. I’ve never been afraid of heights. I love the exhilarating feeling of being high up off the ground. The air is different, fresher, cleaner.
My dream would to fly like a bird and the nearest I ever got to that was a hot air balloon flight. We went through the clouds and flew in the bright blue sky, the sun shining down on us. I would still like to paraglide but it’s looking less likely now.
Even though I love heights I hate flying in an aircraft because I’m claustrophobic and have a fear of being trapped anywhere. Tunnels, caves and enclosed spaces, I avoid at any cost.

Prompt: Write a letter of complaint to the month of May.

Dear May, I’m writing to complain about your early arrival. I know it’s considered to be better early than late but you caught me on the hop as I hadn’t yet prepared to make you welcome.
I’m given to understand you’re just one member of a group of twelve, calling yourselves 2025. I’ve taken into consideration the fact you’re as yet an inexperienced group and in a rush to prove you’re the fastest year yet, but I must warn you, people will not look on you favourably if you insist on shortening the weeks and days. You might think by losing an hour here or there no one would possibly notice, but I for one am aware of your plan and writing this letter to you to express my displeasure.
My advice to you, dear May, is to have a group meeting as soon as possible. Tell them to slow down or, mark my words, December will get ideas above her station and will fly past you all. She will be in front and flouting Christmas before you’ve even noticed.

And while I have your attention, May, so far you haven’t delivered much in the way of good news. So get a grip, pull up your socks, and do what you were born to do. Remember little April brought her showers, now all you need to do is bring forth May flowers.
