In honor of St. Patrrick's Day this month, we are going to revisit the Limerick, an old Irish tradition popularized by English artist and poet Edward Lear after a visit to the Emerald Isle. The form consists of five lines with three anapestic feet (da-da-DUM) in lines 1, 2, and 5, while lines 3 and 4 have two anapestic feet with a rhyme scheme of aabbc, as described and demonstrated in the following links: http://www.poetrymagnumopus.com/topic/1094-limerick-and-cross-limerick/ https://whvvugt.home.xs4all.nl/Archives_TCCMB/Limericks/Structure.html http://www.shadowpoetry.com/resources/wip/limerick.html Let the creativity flow from your soul!
