Soon enough, the day of the exams came. Naruto and his five other student bodies woke up, prepared for the long day ahead. Naruto/Anko met up with Kurenai to welcome their students, who entered and found the entrance without issue. Sure, they found Team Gai making a dramatic scene to distract everyone, but there was no reason to disturb them, especially as the three of them made it in time anyways.
Entering the room and meeting up with Kiba, Akamaru, Choji, and Shikamaru, who were nominated together as a separate team, due to the three member limit (Akamaru being Kiba's companion was allowed), as well as Shino, Sai, and another Genin they didn't know, but was part of the Genin Pool as Naruto once was. His name was Flint and specialized in Earth Jutsu. This was his second attempt after his teammates were promoted two years ago and this was the first time he had been nominated since because he wanted to strengthen himself and wait for the Chunin Exams to come to Konoha.
The twelve of them made small talk, largely ignoring the others in the room, until a man named Kabuto approached them. Naruto had figured out he was a traitor working for the Sound, but didn't blow the whistle just yet. He felt like Kabuto would be better to keep providing more intel unknowingly until it was too late.
Any commotion from there was broken up by Anki's coworker, Ibiki Morino, showing up with a squad of Chunin, telling everyone to settle down. They were led into a different room where they were assigned seats. He then proceeded to explain the rules of the First Part of the Chunin Exams, which was a written test with 10 questions, each worth 1 point for a total of 10. Cheating was punished by small increments and if a single member's points was reduced to zero, their entire team was disqualified. None of this mattered to Naruto, as with his abilities, the most he would ever get taken off was 4-6 points across his bodies because of his bloodline. That, and thanks to Sakura's intelligence as well as Hinata and Satsuki's Dojutsus, he was able to read the answers from the Chunin Plants in the room that had the answers to the test.
Thanks to Anko's knowledge, this was a test of information gathering without being caught and discerning false information. In another life, Naruto would be woefully unprepared for this, but not here. With a time limit of 1 hour, it put the pressure on those who couldn't cope with said pressure. When 45 minutes passed, Ibiki changed the game again, by allowing people to disqualify themselves and try again another time, or take on the final question and if they fail, they are permanent Genin no matter what. In another life, Naruto would have been incensed at the declaration, countering with his own, but not here. Here, the tactics worked until about 48 people remained. When the full hour had concluded, Ibiki passed them, and explained the purpose of the written portion.
A few minutes later, a knock on the door revealed the second proctor, Hayate. Hayate was not in the greatest health due to his smoking habit, but Naruto wasn't in a position yet to do anything about it. Medical Ninjutsu was outside his current wheelhouse, but even then, Hayate was still functioning, so Naruto would have to be patient.
Hayate announced himself as the proctor for the Second Phase of the exams and gave them time for Lunch before reporting to Training Ground 44, The Forest of Death for the next part of the exams.
