“No no. I’m fine.” You try to appear nonchalant to assure Janice. “Nothing wrong here.”

“Are you sure? What’s that behind you back?”

“Nothing. Just a stick of gum.”

“Really? Why don’t you give me a piece?” She says, seemingly calling your bluff.

“It’s just one piece. It’s mine.”

“Split it.”

“Maybe I want the whole piece to myself.”
