The large brute kept his hands on Jack's throat as it grinned with excitement. It had been all alone for a while now and a human had finally wandered in of its own free will! Jack wheezed a bit as he made a grab for the handgun, but it was just out of reach, another inch and he would have had it. "God damn you...!" Jack choked out as he delivered a punch to the dead mans jaw. A tooth slipped from its mouth as blood began running down its lips, but it kept its hands in place. "This is it... I'm going to die..." Jack though as he began to feel lightheaded. With the last of his strangth Jack twisted his body away from the zombie. The monster didn't even notice as it was too busy watching Jack's face change color, but it was enough to give the sauve gambler one last chance to escape.
Jack tried desperately feeling around for his gun as his vision began dimming. "No! NO! Don't pass out now, god damn it!" Jack thought as his hand felt nothing but an empty floor. Jack began to faint right as his hand touched cold metal and without a word he pointed the gun and fired 2 shots into the zombies chest. The man groaned as blood began covering his chest and softened his grip a little. "Thank god, one more." Jack whispered as he took aim and put a bullet in the bastards left eye. The body went limp and collapsed just as Jack himself passed out. It had been a close call, yet he had managed to survive by the skin of his teeth. "Guess lady luck has decided to come back to me..." Jack said softly as the room disappeared in a sea of black.
It would be a while before Jack woke up, though wether it had been hours or merely minutes he was unsure of. The sunlight from the open window warmed his head and a thick liquid could be felt slowly running down his body. Jack opened his eyes and shielded them as he shoved the body of the man aside and pulled his legs out from under him. He had a bit of a headache and his suit was now badly stained with blood, but other than that he was fine. "Christ, how long was I out...?" He groaned as he picked up his gun and axe and walked over towards the door. "Thats it, I'm getting out of this place... now." He opened the door and began walking down the hallway towards the elevator when he heard a man call for help. "Hey, that sounded like it came from close by!" Jack shouted as he began looking around to see where the cry for help had come from. There, on the balcony across from him, was a middle aged man grappling with a strange zombie with glowing green eyes. "What the hell...? What is that thing?!" Jack gasped as the man screamed again, this time a lot louder...
