The place to be for fat furs and expanded creatures of all kinds.

This choice: Will yourself from eating any more  •  Go Back...
Chapter #8

Eat to live, not live to eat

    by: Mindovermatter Author IconMail Icon
Although that quesadilla does look delicious, you managed to will yourself from indulging any further. You're already uncomfortably full, and you wouldn't want a bellyache to ruin what would be otherwise a fine meal.

"Thanks, but I'll pass," you said to Devon, pushing the quesadilla back to him.

The 'roo shrugged his shoulders. "Eh, suit yourself." He folded the quesadilla in half and chopped it down in a few bites. "More for me, then!" Devon said after swallowing.

"That doesn't bother me," you replied as you continued watching Devon work through all the food. In only minutes, another tray was emptied. The 'roo smiled in satisfaction as one of his greasy paws slipped under his tank top and started gently massaging his stuffed belly. Again, to be courteous, you cleaned up the table and returned the tray while the orange kangaroo groaning slightly while digesting his meal.

"Are you doing alright?" you asked the 'roo. "I hope you didn't overeat or anything."

"Nah, I'm fine." replied Devon. "I've eaten way more before. I probably just ate a bit too quickly. I tend to eat really fast when I try to impress a guy." The 'roo gave you a wink, and you blushed slightly.

"Well, you certainly did impress me," you said. "I just wished you didn't have to impress me in a way that gave you indigestion or something."

"Again, I think I'll be fine," Devon assured you. "Especially when I get home. Ice cream always soothes my stomach and I have a ton of it."

"Somehow, that does not surprise me..." you said teasing the 'roo. He stuck his tongue out at you.

"Yeah, but would enough ice cream to fill full an entire freezer surprise you?"

"An entire freezer? How did you end up with so much? Got a sweet tooth on a shopping spree or something?"

"Not quite," began Devon. "A friend of mine works in management for one of the grocery chains in town. He gave me a hot tip that one of the stores nearby me was shutting down completely for renovations. They're gutting the store, so they need to get rid of everything absolutely everything. I found out what day they were going to slash prices and made sure I was the first fur there when they opened in the morning."

"Wow, guess it pays to have friends in high places." you said.

"Oh yeah, it does!" the 'roo said enthusiastically. "Say, do you want to come over for dessert? Ice cream, specifically?"

While you are still a bit full from your meal, a bowl of ice cream does sound nice. And you'll probably have room in your stomach by the time you reach Devon's place. On the other hand, it seems like you have spent most of the day with this 'roo, and there is so much for you to do. You need money, some place to stay, and (hopefully) answers as to why you ended up here in the first place.

You have the following choices:

*Pen*
1. Politely decline dessert

2. Go back to Devon's place for dessert

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
