You didn’t recognize the girl in the mirror, so you guessed she was a girl version of you, but one that’s much prettier than you’d be if you were actually born a girl. After all, she was the prettiest girl you’d ever seen in person, and while you weren’t exactly ugly, you weren’t all that good looking either, so your beauty must’ve been enhanced thanks to the ‘prettiest girl in school’ change.
“Anna? Why’d you take off so suddenly?”
You turned to see Kim was standing behind you with a concerned look on her face. Apparently, despite being the one who typed the change into the website, she wasn’t aware of the change. “Uh, sorry. I just…thought I felt a zit on my face. So I had to check. False alarm.” You lied.
“A zit? Girl, you’ve never had a zit. Your skin is always so perfect it makes me jealous.” Kim giggled.
“Right, well…there’s always a first time for everything. Had to make sure I wasn’t getting my first zit.”
“I get it. You have an image to maintain, after all.”
“Hey, uh…what was it you typed into the computer before I ran in here?”
“I typed ‘I am the prettiest girl in school’. Obviously it didn’t work, because I still don’t even come close to YOUR beauty.” Kim sighed. “Would’ve been nice to have all the boys look in MY direction for once. But at least I’m still best friends with the queen of the school.”
“Queen?” You said under your breath.
“I’m just lucky you aren’t the kind of pretty girl that is a bitch to everyone less pretty than her. We never would’ve been friends if you were.”
“R-right. Hehe.” You nervously laughed. “Anyway, let’s…head back to my room.”
“Alright, Anna. Come on.” She grabbed your hand and pulled you along to your room.
