Scott blinked awake, aware of stifling heat. He reached to throw the bedsheets off himself, but found nothing there. He was still wearing his day clothes though, fully dressed and drenched in sweat. No, the heat was coming from beneath him...
As he lay a hand down on the surface beneath him, felt its warmth and softness, he remembered. It all came flooding back to him, from the car to the bed, and his discovery by this giant girl. The giant girl whose cheek he was lying on.
He snapped upright, his torch lighting to reveal the curve of Karen's hillside of a face. Seeing it now, he marvelled at the softness of the skin, close to his own. Where he would have expected everything to be magnified, to have gaping pores all around, stalks of hair hither and yon.
But no, this skin was as smooth as any person Scott had ever known. That could only mean that he hadn't been shrunk, Karen's skin was not a normal person scaled up. No, he was not on Earth aymore. This was another planet, another dimension or whatever, somewhere the laws of physics allowed people to grow this massive.
So, it wasn't a case of getting help to find some sort of growth ray, but discovering exactly where this was, and how he could get back to his place of origin. Tall order, even if he wasn't the relative size of an ant!
There was a stirring beneath him, as the god-like girl began to awaken. Scott scampered across her face, eager to be off her before she sat up. Being anywhere on her body could be a risk of being crushed, but as he reached the terminus of her chin, he saw the perfect alternative. Throwing caution away, he leaped into the void.

Karen yawned and stretched, smiling as she luxuriated in the new dawn. Whaddaya know, that had actually been a good night's sleep! Maybe that was the last time she'd quiver quite so mcuh from a storm, and she had one little friend to thank for it! Now, where was he? She looked down at her lap, checked the back of her hands, lifted her teddy to see if he was underneath.
As the bear came level with her eyes, she noticed movement atop its head, and squinted to make out the mini-man waving up at her. She laughed, then put a hand to her mouth as the man covered his ears at the sound. "Sorry," she whispered, "guess I have to keep my voice down, huh?"
The man crawled onto the back of her hand as she brought it close, and she set the bear back on the bed while he climbed up to her knuckles. Such a fragile little thing, but so determined in his efforts! What was it that could have shrunk him so small? Or had he always been so tiny? Perhaps more importantly, what was he doing in the house, in her room?
So many questions... And her mother would be sure to check in on her soon as well!
