You catch a bus to the local pool, not wanting to have any evidence of you getting there, assuming you get a chance to transform and leave as something else. Your leg bounces, excited to try out your powers, wondering what you might be able to turn into, how it will feel to actually be used, to be an object, to exist out in the real world as someTHING, to simply not be the normal, boring, human male you've been all your life.
The bus ride seems to take forever, but when it stops and you see the pool, it is almost like you were there in the blink of an eye. Getting off, you walk to the pool area, realizing belatedly that jeans and a tee shirt weren't the best choice to go to a public pool. You duck into the public rest rooms, pondering your options, when you realize you can turn into anything that isn't human, which includes animals. Even insects. You concentrate, and with an odd lurch, you feel your body pull in on itself, shrinking as you shift, winding up a tiny mosquito, and flying up out of the stall in which you had been hiding.
Buzzing around like this is way more intense than you expected, with your senses so wildly different, your body so much lighter, being able to fly, not having a brain per se. It's like your body is soooo lacking in intelligence, but your mind as you is still inside, just sorta buried. But you fly into the pool area, zipping around, though the distances are now far greater to your tiny insect body. You manage to make sense of your multifaceted vision, and you see:
