It was an usual Friday night. All three girls and Britney's friend Taylor were hanging around in the apartment. Though something was going to happen.
Kim was lying on one end of the couch. She was scrolling in the enormous collection of movies and series to watch though there was nothing that caught her attention. She was just blindly going through the list not looking for anything specific.
"Can't you pick something?" Nikki asked impatiently. She was lying on the other side of the couch. The pink haired girl was ready to watch something, just anything. She couldn't stand this endless scrolling.
"I don't know, there's just nothing interesting." Kim complained.
"Well, have you watched them all?" Nikki asked.
"No, but I can guess." Kim sighted and began to scroll further.
Feeling ready for something to do, Nikki noticed her feet were behind Kim's back. She slightly pushed the smaller girl to the edge of the couch.
"Hey stop that!" Kim noticed as she wriggled back.
"Then just pick something!" Nikki pointed at the screen.
"Enough you two!" Britney said all of a sudden. Kim and Nikki noticed her standing up from her seat at the dinner table where she and Taylor were doing something with Taylor's laptop.
"What? You couldn't decide on a movie as well?" Nikki gave Kim an angry look.
"No." Britney said sitting sideways on her favorite armchair. "We wanted to go a concert, but ticket's are way too expensive. 200 dollars a piece."
"What! Aren't there cheaper ones online?" Nikki asked outrageous.
"Those were the cheapest ones we could find online." Britney answered nodding towards Taylor who sat down on the only available chair left.
"Everything is messed up tonight. It's raining outside, your tickets, miss pickey here." Nikki gave Kim a playful push with her foot.
The girls were all thinking about their situation when Taylor suddenly said: "How about we play a game together?"
The three girls were all looking at each other. "What kind of a game?" Britney asked curious. "A drinking game?"
Taylor shook her head. "No, a game my grandmother once showed me. Come, I'll show you. But first we need to remove the table." With the table gone, the rug underneath it became visible. Taylor sat down on it cross-legged and invited the other girls to join her as well. Sitting in a circle Taylor extended her arms and nudged the others to follow her, the girls holding each other's hands.
"Okay, now what we'll do are a few breathing exercises. Make sure everyone is relaxed." Taylor looked at Nikki specifically. Then I'll say the special incantation. At that moment you will feel different. I want you all then to move to your right without letting go of each other's hand. Remember not to let go and don't open your eyes."
"And then what will happen?" Nikki asked curious.
"You'll see." Taylor answered with a mysterious smile. She then did several breathing techniques with the girls which made them more relaxed, even Nikki. Taylor then began reciting the incantation. The rest of the girls felt something tingling through their bodies, from their toes to their hair. It was like their bodies knew what was going to happen and tried to resist what was going to happen. They felt something was about to happen before they realized what it was. When the last syllable was spoken Britney felt amazing, she felt herself floating in the air, still holding hands with her roommates and friend. She longed for this freedom, she wanted to open her eyes but remembering Taylor's advice she squeezed her eyes even tighter. She nudged towards the right. She felt something trying to keep her down, but at the same time she noticed a nudge from the person at her left. Whatever it was trying to hold her down let go and for a moment she felt nothing at all and then something pulled at her and she felt different. But how?
