Chapter #6

The Rise of Rhea

Holding up her hand and aiming toward the woman who had staggered to her feet, she unleashed a bolt of magic which went zooming toward its target before hitting it in her back. Fayetta frowned in confusion as her magic usually had a purplish shade, but this one was clearly pink, the same pink as her and Vi’s auras and the strange shiny drink they had left behind. Her confusion would only deepen as the woman did not trip and fall again as expected, but instead stiffened and raised her eyebrows at a curious feeling. With their sharp eyes, Fayetta and Vi noticed her chest begin to bulge outward, parting her cloak and putting a slight strain on her tunic underneath it.

The pixies sat in perplexed silence for a moment until Vi finally spoke up. “What…was that?”

“I dunno,” Fayetta admitted. “Maybe just a misfire. Hold on…”

She raised her arm again, narrowing her eyes in concentration this time, and fired another pink bolt, striking Rhea once more. The woman had also noticed her expanded chest and was clutching it in curiosity, but now gasped as the same feeling shot through her spine and her bust inflated a second time against her grasp. “Why is…w-what is happening?” she wondered, her penchant for talking out loud continuing.

“You did it again!” Vi sputtered almost accusingly as her head whipped back and forth between Fayetta and the human.

“I know, I know!” Fayetta snapped back. “Just…why can’t…what…uugh! What the gzarf is wrong!?” With each pause in her disjointed speech, she released another magic missile from her palm, making a more forceful, deliberate motion with every shot. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get her mana to return to its familiar color and feel. Turning to Vi, she was about voice her puzzlement once again, only to find the other pixie staring straight ahead with mouth agape. Fayetta realized she had taken her attention off her target only a split second before she heard a deep moan. Mirroring Vi’s line of sight, she caught the tail-end of the human’s reaction reacting to receiving half a dozen more magic bolts.

Rhea’s entire body stretched upward, her tunic burst apart at the seams as thick slabs of muscular flesh surged between them. Her chest had more than doubled in size this time, pulling her entire top upward and threatening to split it completely down the middle if it were for a few threads still hanging on for dear life. Her trousers had almost completely disintegrated, revealing thick, bulging legs that were approaching the thickness of the log she had just failed to lift. When the burgeoning of her body had finally subsided, she was now nearly double her original height and considerably more massive. Rhea’s excited, surprised breaths heaved her chest outward repeatedly, causing her breasts to rise and fall with lively rhythm as her hands ran across her new frame.

“Wow…” Vi breathed, a drop of drool beginning to form at the edge of her bottom lip. “she’s so…bouncy and beefy…”

“Yeah, but…how?” Fayetta asked, though her voice was just as breathless and filled with awe. “I tried every spell I know and they all just…did that!”

Vi glanced over at her associate, her own astonishment beginning to give way to musing. “Yeah, and all your magic is pink, just like…hmmm…”

Before Fayetta could complete the thought herself, Vi reached out and released her own magic bolt which once again struck Rhea. The human woman’s body surged once again, causing her to squeal and giggle from the now familiar sensation.

“I don’t know what this is, but…mmmm…I feel amazing!” Rhea’s gaze took in her now 10-foot frame, protruding with a sexy blend of strength and voluptuousness. “In fact, I feel like I could…”

Instead of finishing her sentence, she bent down and grabbed the fallen log once again, this time lifting it with ease. She propped it up on its end then launched a fist at its center, shattering a hole through the once sturdy and formidable trunk.

“Heh, that’s for making me all muddy,” she tossed the remnants aside and turned toward her cart and mule. “Ok boy, time to give you a breather.”

Unlatching the mule from the cart, she grabbed the vehicle from underneath and hoisted it over her head, taking care not to jostle the contents enough to make them fall off. “I should be careful in case this isn’t permanent, but this way I should be able to make it to Osto before noon, plenty of time to set up my stall. I wonder if I’ll even get more business like this. Probably from the menfolk at least. Let’s go, Haystack! Our customers await!”

Making a clicking noise signaling the mule to follow, she continued down the path, its poor condition no longer a hindrance. Behind her, the pixie pair watched with interest, especially Vi, who turned to Fayetta eagerly.

“Yes, It’s the same for me! Must’ve been the shiny drink!” she grinned giddily, hovering free from her concealment in the shrub.

“So…we can make the heavyfoots all super-sexy now?” Fayetta wondered, rising to join her.

“Maybe…though maybe one of us more than the other.” Vi put her hands on her hips and smirked with a smug expression Fayetta had learned to despise.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” The slenderest of the two inquired sharply.

“You know my magic’s always been better, Fay-Fay. Ask any of the others and they’d agree.”

“Now hold on a minute! When was that ever true?”

“Since allllwaaays, like I just said.”

“Psh, then prove it, swampweed!”

Vi shrugged and moved once again toward the human, but Fayetta tugged on one of her wings from behind her.

“Nonono, that one’s mine,” she stated firmly. “Go find your own heavyfoot and we’ll see which one we can make spicier.”

“Fine, you’re on, stick!” Vi grinned, wrenching herself free from Fayetta’s grip and picking up elevation. “We’ll follow this one into their settlement and I’ll pick one out from there. Just don’t cry too much when you lose. Wouldn’t want the salt water to make your poor widdle wings too sticky.”

Taking off ahead, she left Fayetta glowering at her back. “Cocky little bitch. I’ll show her.”

True to Rhea’s estimate, they reached the town of Osto before the sun had reached its apex behind the overcast sky. Unaccustomed to moving freely around such a dense concentration of humans, especially in broad daylight, Fayetta and Vi moved quickly and stealthily between any hiding spots they could find. Fayetta made sure she kept Rhea in view which was not too difficult a task, but Vi had the more challenging task of picking out just the right woman to match up against her…
