Makoto did everything she could to quickly and concisely get through all the requests the Phantom Thieves had. It was difficult for her keep focused this meet up due to two big, distracting factors munching loudly in the corner.
“Last on our list we have a case of assault. Thanks to Joker’s investigations, we were able to figure out the culprit is one Taizo N-“ “UUURRRP Sorry!” Ryuji chucked a bit at his girlfriends uncouth interruption, one that made Makoto even more annoyed. “ah-hem Taizo Naguri. Thus we will be heading into mementos to change his heart as well.”
“Alright shoundsh badassh! gulp Let’s do it!” Everyone was about to get ready to go, but Makoto had one last discussion to bring up. “Not so fast! We have one more important problem to address. Ann-san, Ryuji-kun, do you have something you’d wish to speak to us about?” They looked at each other with confusion. “hmmm No why?”
“Are you sure? No stress, or turmoil of any kind?”
“Look dude like we said early there’s no problems.”
“I see so then may I ask, and I don’t mean this as an insult, have you noticed your… shall we say widening figures?”
They looked at each other and examined their bodies. Since their training, they put on a bit of weight. Their potbelly’s started to poke through their uniforms, Ryuji’s widening waist made it harder to keep his pants buttoned up, Ann’s thick thighs were trying to break free from her thigh highs, and they both started developing a double chin.
“hehe She’s right Ryuji you are getting a little fat!” Ann playfully grabbed a bit of Ryujis belly. He quickly swatted her hand off. “haha Hey cut that out you know I’m ticklish! Plus you’re one to talk. You’re a doughnut away from being a total butterball!” Ann began to blush. She wasn’t gonna let that comment slide as she pounced onto Ryuji and began tickling his tender belly. “Now you’ve done it! Come here! I’ll show you the wrath of the butterball!”
The rest of the group found it sweet, but Makoto felt she had to intervene. “Alright that’s enough! Listen we have a problem here. You’re both fat, and if this keeps up, you will be unable to keep up with the rest of us. I get you two haven’t been the most active as of late, but that doesn’t mean you can just let yourself go like this.”
“But we haven’t! We’ve been training super hard. You just don’t get it!” Ann tried to protest, but Makoto wasn’t having any of it. She grabbed a handful of belly fat from both of them. “You call this training? How is this training?” Ryuji was fine with her doing this to him, but not his girlfriend. “Hey back off! That sorta thing is super uncalled for. She’s right we’ve been training super hard and we’ll prove it!” She backed off instantly, regretting her actions. “You’re right. I’m sorry for being so rude. I let my emotions lead my decisions, and I will not let that happen again. With that said, I’ll take you up on that offer. We will stay back and let you two handle some of our requests to see just how much good you’re training is doing for you.”
Ann and Ryuji gave each other a hopeful look as they could finally prove just how strong they were. “Alright, that’s what I like to hear!” After the back and forth, the Phantom Thieves finally made their way to mementos.
“Alright, we’ll board Mona, and when we find our target we’ll stay back and let you two handle things. If it starts to look dangerous then we’ll step in and help.” Makoto reaffirmed. “We get it, we get it. Mona do your thing, and let’s get this show on the road!”
Morgana jumped in front of the group and transformed into a bus. The thieves boarded one by one with no problem, until Ryuji and Ann got on. Their heavy bodies, literally, rocked the bus. “oof Hey watch it back there you two!” “Sorry!” They both blurted out in embarrassment. They were already off to a bad start as Makoto continued to make mental notes of the problems their new forms are causing.
“Hey I found the door way dead ahead.” Morgana tried to point the thieves to where he was looking, and though he couldn’t, they found it easily anyway. “Alright Panther, it’s our time to shine!”
“Right let’s show them what we’re made of!”
They got off the bus to take care of the first of their assignments. The misguided shadow turned into a large rock monster, prompting the two chubby thieves to summon their personas. The shadow looked very powerful, and while Makoto and the others wanted to join in they had to stay back to let them show off their training.
Ryuji blasted it with lightning! Even though it’s body was made of rock and seemed resistant to the element, the sheer force of the attack caused the shadow to stagger in pain. “You’re turn Panther!” Ann summoned an ember that circled around her. The ember disappeared into her hand and she swiped in the direction of the shadow causing a pillar of flame emerge from the ground defeating the enemy before them.
“That was just magnificent! The beauty of your attacks has me mesmerized. It is true that your training is bearing bright fruit!” Yusuke remarked. “huff Thanks” Ryuji wiped some sweat off his brow. “Hold on Fox, I don’t know if I am quite sold yet. We have a few more assignments to take care of. After that I will decide.”
They continued to defeat strong shadow, after strong shadow. Though they may have been sweating and worn out after each confrontation, they still were able to finish each fight in only one or two attacks.
“Alright that’s everything!” Makoto remarked. “huff puff whew Finally!” Ann said trying to air out her ill fitting tight spandex. “gah Jeez you said it! So Queen, how’d we do?” She looked at the two, racking her brain for how she should feel about their new forms.
