As the two of them entered the theater's lobby, Elfilin briefly paused. Thoughts rang through his head about what kind of show Clawroline could throw, being restricted to a mere theater, rather than Wondaria's Big Top. Bandana Dee was kind enough to give him some examples, but there would no doubt be some restrictions due to... safety reasons. Would she still be allowed to climb up walls? Would she be able to use her infamous talons? Surly not! As the space mouse was lost in thought yet again, Kirby took out his brush to paint up a delectable-looking picture of buttered popcorn. With three identical bags of popcorn materializing from the canvas, the space rodent was quickly brought back to reality by Kirby generously offering him a bag, while keeping the other two to himself. "H-Huh?" Elfilin said with an unaware tone, which quickly changed as he saw the pink puff offer him the bag. "For me? Heheh! Thanks a lot, Kirby!" He exclaimed with a bright smile.
With most of the beasts taking the front rows and the waddle dees taking everything else, the duo had to settle for seats towards the very back. This wasn't an issue by any means, but it wasn't exactly ideal either. After patiently waiting for the show to begin, the lights dimmed in an oddly soothing manner. The theater went silent as the obese leopard slowly revealed herself from behind the curtain, sporting her traditional performer's outfit... sorta? The headgear was all fine and dandy, but everything below that was how you would say... snug. Her cloak could be mistaken as a skintight bodysuit, due to it being a few sizes too small; and by a few, literally meaning her base size from all that time ago. How she managed to get it around her, no one knows.
After standing still for a solid 10 seconds with this ineffective masquerade, the heavy-set feline threw her outfit to the wind with a rather graceful motion, putting her free paw to her doughy hip with an alluring gaze. With the curtains opening up, she motioned along with it to reveal a table packed with scrumptious-looking apples. "Uhh... Is the show supposed to start off this basic or..." Elfilin said to himself in a confused manner, unaware of what the feline was going to pull. With a swift strike to the wind, she quickly threw the ripe-looking fruits up in the air with a stellar demeanor, pulling out her razor-sharp throwing talons and tossing them up in a similar manner. The talons soared through the air like jet planes, cutting up the apples like that of a sharp kitchen knife.
Pulling out a plate and setting it on the table, the now chopped-up apple slices fell onto the plate one after another, creating a satisfying display as the audience watched them clump onto the plate, the stack perpetually increasing in size. With the final result of slices exceeding the height of the table itself, the voluptuous leopard bowed with her arm below her head, giving a sight peek at the top of the swift feline's cake, both literally and figuratively, as some waddle dees rolled in a massive, orange-colored cake. Taking out her claws, she hacked and slashed the delectable pastry, conveniently splattering the excess remains into a sack to her left. With how fast she was working, it was hard to tell what she was sculpting. In fact, the sheer speed of the act was so high, that the entire scene at hand could have been mistaken for a tornado to the naked eye!
Thankfully, her tornado was not deadly like Kirby's tornado ability and instead stood in place as the orange twister subsided with the final result, a sculpture of herself. The audience roared and applauded her with paws and nubs waving and flailing in the air with excitement. Kirby jumped out of his seat, giggling and laughing with joy at the sight before him as popcorn spilled onto the floor. Was he excited to see the highly detailed sculpture... or did he just want to eat it? Everyone continued cheering and applauding at the impressive sight... well almost everyone. Eflilin noticed something... off about it. "W-Wait. Why is it so..." The colossal figure that stood before everyone was indeed Clawroline, though an obese Clawroline that matched the real leopard's current appearance. "Does she... like being this way? No, no! She probably just doesn't care about the way she looks. Yeah! That's it. Ahahaha... Ah..." He said as he put on a fake smile, attempting to remind himself not to think too hard on the matter. He was here to be entertained! Not to bring about more stress!
Unfortunately, Elfilin just couldn't shake the feeling. That sculpture really bugged him, and thanks to it being on full display for the rest of the show, he ended up zoning out yet again, staring at the sight in front of him with shades of confusion and uncertainty, a routine that's become normal for the poor chinchilla. Clawroline demonstrated some progressively zany and impressive performances, though nothing seemed to faze the space mouse as he ended up missing the rest of the performance, only returning to reality when the lights went back on, sitting in an empty theater with Kirby by his side with the popcorn long gone as the puff helped himself to the rodent's bag as well. "It's over already..?" Elfilin said in a lifeless, monotone voice. "Poyo?" Kirby said to him with a concerned face as the space mouse quickly reverted back to his chipper self. "Ahahaha! Sorry, you had to see that. I'm fine now, really!" He said, waving his stubby arms back and forth for reassurance with a tomato-red blush flushed on his face.
With a confused 'Poyo' coming from Kirby's mouth he began to make his way out of the theater as well, quickly freezing in place as he whiffed the air with his nonexistent nose. It was the smell of food! He turned a complete 180 as he made his way to the backroom, tracing down the smell like a carnivore on the hunt. "H-Hey! Kirby, where are you going!?" Elfilin shouted as he floated as fast as he could to catch up with the pink star warrior. Meanwhile, Clawroline finished scarfing down the leftover splatters of cake from earlier via the bag, finishing off the last of her after-show lunch. She turned around, eyeing the exquisite-looking cake sculpture of herself, licking her licks, ravenously. Unfortunately for her, Kirby slammed open the door a little too hard, causing her to jump in fear and land face-first into the wooden table, breaking it in half.
The irritated feline quickly went on all fours, hissing in an intimidating way, causing the two intruders to freeze in fear. "I'msosorrywe'llneverintrudeagain!" Elfilin cowered in fear as he spoke at lightning speed, causing Clawroline to scoff and cross her flabby arms in annoyance. With a long, deep sigh from Elfilin, he once again eyed the gigantic statue in front of him and pumped his fists with determination. "You... did really well in today's performance. S-Since I'm here, I might as well ask you something. Heheh..." He rubbed the back of his head as the annoyed leopard tilted her head with a stern face. "Mrrow?" She said, puzzled as to what the space mouse had to say. "I... I... You know what? Maybe now's not the time. I'll just ask it... when..." He trailed off, sitting in dead silence as he slowly left the scene, Kirby pleading for him to come back, but to no avail. With Elfilin gone, the pink puff might as well try to score some of that cake. He slowly approached the vast pastry but was quickly stopped by Clawroline dashing in front of him while pushing him back, knocking his ability out as she hissed again in a threatening tone. "Poy..." Kirby trembled as he slowly backed off, chasing after Elfilin.
Meanwhile, in a nearby forest outside of Waddle Dee Town, Elfilin slumped against a tree trunk, lost in thought as always. Kirby soon caught up, sprinting as fast as he could as he sat beside the lost space mouse. "Poyo?" Kirby asked Elfilin with a clueless voice. "It's nothing. I know you're all carefree and whatnot, but do you think Ms. Clawroline's getting... well... Out of hand? Her recent growth spurts are not normal, and I'm concerned about what's causing it. Is it because she's never had the proper meals to obtain such a feat or..." With another 'Poyo' from Kirby, Elfilin turned to face him. "Of course I'm worried. Didn't I just tell you th-" "Poyo! Po po poy yo!" Kirby raised his voice, catching the space mouse by surprise. "Huh? What do you mean 'Tell her how you feel'? She's the happiest I've ever seen her. I don't want to remind her of the days when she was all scrawny and-" "Poy!" Kirby shouted, quickly interrupting the space rodent's repetition.
"I know everything was out of my hands, but that still doesn't mean that my conscious is as such! I just can't seem to find the right opportunity to ask her. Then again, this whole thing's just going to spiral out of control if we don't get answers. Considering what she displayed on stage today, I'm sure she's aware of what's going on... I think." Elfilin closed his eyes to think of his next move, when suddenly, he pumped his fists for a second time, this time with a determined face. Elfilin finally mustered up the courage to pop the question. Heading towards the town as fast as he could he...
