Sam watched as the colorful crowd around the Center continued to grow. He was so excited about the event that he woke up very early and left after a simple breakfast. And on his long and thin legs, he reached the city very quickly. It is true that he slowed down at the border of the city and it took some time to find the right direction and then the lengthy procedure to get as close to the event as he could with slow, precise steps and balancing on his toes without causing problems for the other participants. And he really hoped that the brick buildings that his toes were currently pressing awkwardly against would not collapse. That's why he tried to keep the weight of his huge body on his heels. As a result, his heels sunk deeper into the ground and cracks appeared on nearby asphalted parking lots, sidewalks, and roads. However, the pressure caused by his toes eased a little on the buildings.
Sam didn't know how the people living in those buildings felt when he appeared, but he hoped they weren't bothered by his toes blocking their view for the day.
After Sam's conscience was cleared that he had fulfilled his duty to alleviate as much of the problems his presence caused for others as he could, Sam turned all his attention back to the center. Where an ever-increasing crowd of people was present. There were mainly costumed people coming to the event. But there were many people who only made a forced detour because two huge feet occupied the shorter path to their destination. Others originally came here just to see what a giant little boy was doing inside the city. Because of this, the crowd in the square in front of the center, which was now between his two huge feet, grew more and more.
Many people stopped to take a closer look at the boy. A cute face framed by messy long hair and brightly shining eyes. Many people took out their phones to take photos or selfies. Others could not stop and went closer to touch the boy's skin. It's a rare opportunity to be this close to a giant.
Finally, they treated the child as a real spectacle. As part and parcel of the event.
Sam looked curiously at the crowd gathering around him. He was a little nervous among so many people because he didn't know how to react, but since they didn't want to chase him away in any way, he felt this was a good sign. The crowd was growing and they were getting closer to him. Then he felt a very small tingling on the sides of his feet near the soles of his feet. This feeling was strange and the boy guessed that it was the touch of dozens of human palms touching him. Sam was now regretting that he hadn't washed his feet before coming here.
He felt that he could not stand there like a ridiculously oversized statue. He came here to participate in the event and people took the trouble to come to him. Sam decides to do something, but he doesn't know what the best thing would be. Greeting seemed a bit too much because what if it disturbs those people who don't want it, but not greeting would have been very impolite. So he decided on an intermediate solution. He smiled a little shyly and put one hand on the back of his head and waved to the crowd gathered below him with the other.
This caused a visible reaction from the people, because the crowd moved and became aware of small movements, which was how hundreds of people waved back to him at the same time and heard many of the people shouting. Although all he heard was "Hoooooo."
Sam smiled. Things are off to a good start here in town. He managed to get a little involved in the events and the other participants accepted his request that he wanted to participate in the event quite well. It is true that only footprint-shaped craters remained in a few parks and a few streets and buildings were damaged, but no one was injured, at least he didn't know about it and he really hoped. And now he can finally take part in the event he dreamed of.
