Hearing the car doors closing outside, Josh quickly made his way to the window to see if he could get a look on who had arrived. Feeling his heart beating in his chest, he carefully climbed on the chair to get a chance to look out the window. 'Fuck.' He cursed under his breath as he quickly closed the curtains and looked over at Lilly, who was too preoccupied looking into the mirror to notice anything. "Lilly, we need to change back now." Josh demanded as she went up to Lilly and started to grab onto his shirt that she was wearing. Giving it a tug to get her attention, Josh replied with a much more firm tone. "We need to change back now! Your Dad is here." He gestured towards the window.
Looking down at Josh's much smaller body who was wearing her clothes, Lilly couldn't help but smile at his predicament. "How about we stay like this until tomorrow." She asked hoping that he would agree, but Josh stood there defiantly with his hands on this hips. "Why not?" She asked with a tone of a child not getting her way.
Seeing a chance to get changed back, Josh did a quick look around the room to find the remote but didn't see anything. 'She must have hidden it somewhere.' He thought. "Lilly, we need to change back so that you can go home. I did your homework and you need to turn us back so you can go home."
Knowing that she had the upper hand and that Josh wouldn't find her hiding spot, Lilly knew this was her chance to see if she could stay here for the night. "But I want to stay here tonight and don't want to go home with Dad and James." She sat down on the bed and Josh grimaced at how she was now the same height as him. "James is always playing with his video games and he won't let me try it out with him."
Feeling a little antsy about getting back in his life like he supposed to be, Josh started to jump with anticipation knowing that Lilly's Dad might be coming up any moment. "How about we swap back our lives and then we can do almost any swap that you want to do." Hoping that Lilly would take the bait so that he could get back in his life.
Josh could see the gears moving in her head. "So, if I swap your life back then you will let me swap something else?" She asked still not too sure about if Josh was being serious or not.
Feeling like he had her, Josh quickly pounced on the chance. "Yep." He replied with a smile. "We swap back out lives and we can swap something else for a couple days." Josh suggested acting nonchalant about it, hoping that she would swap back his life.
Thinking about it for a moment, Lilly didn't seem to like what she was hearing and started shaking her head. "Nuh-uh." She disagreed and quickly sat down on the bed in an attempt to look at him in the eyes, something that her Dad did when he wanted her direct attention. "We swap back and I get to choose something of yours until after Thanksgiving." She demanded without breaking eye contact, which scared Josh a little, but after hearing how long she wanted to keep something, he started to freak out.
"But that...!" He nearly yelled out, but quickly quieted down before his Mom came back up to drag him away once more. "That's almost a week." He replied back with a much quieter tone. "Can't we do it for a smaller amount of time. Like until Monday or something?" He suggested hoping that she would take it.
Shaking her head, Lilly reiterated her point. "Until after Thanksgiving because my Dad is taking us out of town to visit my Grandma in Ohio and we won't be back until then."
Josh really didn't want to wait until after Thanksgiving to get whatever she took from him, but he really wanted his life back too. "Fine, but we need to hurry up before you need to leave."
Knowing that she won, Lilly smiled broadly. Getting up, she went straight to the closet to get the remote that she put on the highest shelf. It was a place that she knew her Dad would hide important things since she and her brother couldn't reach it without help. "Here we go." She declared while pointing the remote back at him.
The bright flash of light blinded him once more as he looked around to see what had changed. Finally able to see again, Josh brought his gaze over to Lilly still taller than him and pointing the remote at him. "I thought you were going to..." He stopped after seeing Lilly and how different she looked.
"I'm going to swap back our lives after I get what I wanted." She answered back with a tone signifying that she had the upper hand. "Are you wondering what I took?" She asked him.
Shaking his head, Josh let out a sigh. "You swapped our _____________"
