It was early in the morning when Chase and Elaine were battling it out for ownership of the Viridian Gym. The battle had been going on for almost ten minutes, and they were down to only one Pokémon each. Chase's Blaziken and Elaine's Metagross.
Blaziken brought a Fire Punch down on the Steel Type's head, causing it to stagger.
Sorry Chase, Team Mystic don't lose. We tie.
As the Fire Type went for a second punch, the Metagross used Explosion and took them both out.
"Oh, come on!" she heard him screamed from the other room. Despite having owned Pokémon Go for nearly a year, he'd only managed to claim three Gyms. She, on the other had, managed to claim nine in the same time.
"Chase! Elaine!" his mom called up. "It's almost time!"

"Nice battle, this morning. Nearly had it that time."
Chase glared at him with a smile. "I'll get another one of these days."
"Oh, are you three here already?" Oak questioned from the doorway. "Well, come on in."
Following him, they watched as he placed three Poké Balls on a table.
"One of these three Pokémon will be your first step on your journey. Who's going to choose first?"
"Trace, you were here first." Elaine spoke up, "But why not let Chase go first? It was his birthday, yesterday."
"Yea, that's fair."
She knew Chase wasn't much of a threat, due to how he put everything into every moment. Trace on the other hand, he had a way of coming out on top at the last second. She suspected he'd choose the Pokémon with a type advantage, leaving her with the advantageous type against him.
After the other two picked, she was left with... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
