After waking up, Ethan got himself ready for the day. But as he was eating, his mother called out to him.
"Oh Ethan, Prof. Elm was looking for you." She said as Ethan was finishing his cereal. "He said he wanted you to do something for him but he didn't say what. Oh, before I forget, your Pokégear's back from the repair shop. I left it by the door."
As Ethan left to see what Elm wanted, he grabbed his Pokégear and made his way to Elm's Lab.
When he entered, he was let into the back room where he was focused on his computer. "Professor Elm?"
Elm looked up. "Oh, Ethan, you came. I was hoping you'd do me a favour. You see, I'm conducting new Pokémon research." He went onto say about writing a paper for a conference and needed him to check on an acquaintance who apparently found something. "In return, you can take your Pokémon now instead of tomorrow."
"Sure, I'll help."
He smiled at that. "Great! The Pokémon are on the table, choose whichever you'd like."
