Before I could reach the door, a woman seemed to materialize in front of it right before me. I rubbed my eyes and attempted to dismiss the lady's rather sudden appearance as a trick of my eyes and mind.
Having recovered from the shock, I was quite taken by our visitor's beauty. She had the most lustrous blonde hair arranged in the most modern hair style. Her eyes were a cool, pale blue. The most expensive, glamorous clothes one could buy flattered her singular features.
"The familial resemblance is quite uncanny," remarked Holmes. "Surely this is a relative of Wanda Ringspirit, the renowned actress."
"Oh, yes!" I remarked. "The spitting image. My late wife and I once attended Miss Ringspirit's performance as Juliet. A rousing display if I ever saw one. Quite tragic what became of her."
"You're not quite correct, Mr. Holmes," our visitor said in a soft, breathy voice. "You see, I am Wanda Ringspirit."
"That's quite impossible. Wanda Ringspirit was horribly killed."
"That's precisely why I'm here. I'd like you to solve my murder."
