to my girlfriend

I watched my girlfriend sleep one night and this poem just popped into my head.

She lays her head on the pillow
And falls into a peaceful sleep
As I lay down beside her
Into the night so deep
I take a moment and watch her sleep.

She reminds me of an angel
So beautiful and sweet
I gently brush her hair from her face
To clear away my view
Her smile to me a grace
Nothing can come close to

I move closer to her
And gently kiss her sweet lips
As I softly whisper three little words
I love you.
