The black cloak of night surrounds
Silence came so suddenly
My words become transparent

We were lightning split
And time repaired
Your lips parted
Your breath escapes

I move the hair out of your face
The porcelain visage becomes clear
I touch the sleep flushed cheeks
Your warmth transfered to me

I'll miss this night forever after
I'll curse the morn that ends it
Your scent remains upon the pillow
Reminders of the fading dream

Your limbs stir but for a moment
Your fingers curl and release
I rub your soft inviting back
And kiss your ruby lips

I kiss them once for being here
Again for never leaving
A third time for the heart you share
And fourth for accepting me
