Learning to embrace the good memories after a long marriage ends in divorce. |
| Remember when so long ago Shy glances met across the room. From trust of youthful innocence, A seed of lasting love would bloom. From bud to blossom, hearts did bask In scent of lovers' sweet perfume. Remember when our little ones Soon joined our dance on tiny feet. We waltzed to music from our hearts As children made our lives complete. The dance of love and family Filled up our home with each new beat. Remember when the children grew, And soared like wings of warbling wren. We tried to hold our souls as one, But love had flown away by then. We dance apart, but this I pray, We always will remember when. This poem is written in iambic tetrameter with a rhyme scheme of abcbdb. |
