Surreptitious silverfish swim silently serene
compromising critical chambray
infiltrating insects intimidate Irene
duplicating devious dismay

Malicious, maladjusted moths meticulously mouth
phantasmagoric patterns prophesied
sending systematic shivers scrupulously south
terrorizing those that testified

Calculating caterpillars copiously creep
benevolently bashing banal beasts
retrospective residents ridiculously reap
fictitious farmlands formulating feasts

I do not know what I have done
nor what I next shall do
for every accolade I've won
has cost me one or two

Suffice to say, I have no beef
with those who reek critique
they also grant me some relief
from those who seldom speak

My final words to you who read
this poem of clashing style
remember that you just might need
some lines that make you smile
