Go Vat:Oriental style poetry |
Chimes sing their say in melody with changing moods, who could foresee? May you dance the essence of wind. As a muse turns melancholy, tinkling music becomes eerie. Chance to dance the essence of wind. Lament with songs of sympathy, trilling for an eternity. Taunting dance to essence of wind. Persisted manic stories flee. At last a calm breeze inspires me to slow dance with essence of wind. This form originated in Cambodia with the French Influence. Go Vat consists of a couplet of usually eight syllables, which sets the rhyme for the subsequent stanzas, and a third line which can be repeated totally or phrase or just the final word. aab, aab, aab, aab. |
