The Night of the Frost Owl As we walked the path back to the car hand in hand Not paying attention to how late it was Let alone the darkness that was creeping upon us. Not aware of it's presence, we stopped at the sound of the Frost Owl Such a retching scream within the night Shaking and frightened we clung onto each other. Jumping out of our skins as a big-eyed Doe jumped out in front of us As we wandered about the forest, looking for a way out With the leaves crushing beneath our feet. Realizing the Frost Owl was above us As his cry echoed through the forest Never to be seen again. Word count: 110 Line count: 12 Words: big, eyed, doe, frost, owl, wander, leaves, path |
