My Mid-Year Resolution


I am resolved to stay open-minded
to not become so jaded and blinded
that I fail to listen to others’ views

despite what I read or watch in the news.

I am further resolved to stay engaged
not cynical, embittered, or enraged
if things don’t go the way I think they should
by staying focused on the greater good.
