Not just for trick or treat |
| Halloween is a modernization of the holiday Hallow'e Eve which was an appropriation of the Celtic festival Samhain. Originally, it was believed to be the day that the veil between the mortal and spirit world was thinnest. It was a time of new beginnings and ends. People dressed up as ghosts, monsters and other supernatural creatures in order to stay safe while these entities held sway over the night that became October 31st. |
