Yes, it's been a wonderful day, with one big surprise

This a true story of my Thanksgiving Day today.

Rhyming Quatrain, 4 lines/verse

Thanksgiving Day 2025

It’s been a really great Thanksgiving Day
I am so grateful, what more can I say?
What is it I’m feeling, what’s the deal?
It’s quite a story, listen if you will.

My oldest son has been missing from my life
I thought it was because of his wife
Today though, he called me out of the blue
A lot has happened to us both, it’s true

As we talked, I told him how happy I was
To have him around, no matter the cause
We’ll get together sometime next week
My future will no longer be bleak

Now you might see why this day is so great
In life, I now have a new slate
I never knew I was carrying this weight.
