Being Retired now, I thought that it was time for a new name to this Blog |

Talk about perks, my career had one of the best I can think of! I traveled in the course of business, delivering classes for my employer. I was a Senior Training Specialist for Motorola Solutions, and taught classes on a wide variety of subjects centered around 2-way radio communications. I knew that when the time arrived that I would retire, and I have. I've always said that if you can't stand the heat in the kitchen, get out! I can't handle the heat anymore. I was qualified to deliver approximately 32 different classes, but about half of those were 'Legacy' classes, and were not in demand anymore. My students were technicians, those who maintained, programmed, calibrated, and repaired large 2-way radio systems. Some of these systems are statewide, and use TCP-IP networking to allow sites to communicate with others. Some are small, traditional type radio sites. The size doesn't matter, in each case the systems must be kept operational at all times, since many of them are Public Safety Systems. So I traveled, sometimes frequently, 3-4 weeks in a row.... where have I been? Some of the places I've been (I can't list them all here, the list would be too long) are pretty interesting. 1. Hawaii - Four times, Oahu, Maui (twice), and the Big Island 2. BangkokThailand, twice 3. Frankfurt Germany, twice 4. Algiers, Algeria 5. Melbourne Australia 6. Bismarck North Dakota, Summer & Winter 7. Los Angeles, Too many times to count 8. Washington DC, Too many times to count 9. Seattle three or four times 10. Texas, all over the state 11. Florida, all over the state 12. New Mexico, HOME! Several times |
CERN And The Discovery Of A Possible Parallel Universe Y'know, I wish I as half as prolific at Blog entries as Robert Waltz So today, I'll reference an external article that caught my eye, and covers a subject I'm a tad bit interested in. Plus, it's from X, also known as Twitter, so it has to be true, right? I mean I read it here on the web, so it must be true! I did look up the article's author, Asa Soo on Twitter, he doesn't appear to be a Scientist of any kind, I'm left wondering about all of it now. Also, his post on Twitter, X, whatever, looked an awful lot like the one I initially saw on FB. The author of the article, Asa Soo writes, "Scientists at CERN have stunned the world after a quantum field simulation produced results unlike anything ever recorded. What began as a controlled experiment designed to map subatomic interactions quickly turned into a discovery that could rewrite everything we know about reality. During the simulation, the team observed feedback loops in the data that did not resemble random particle behavior. Instead, the patterns appeared to be structured, deliberate, and remarkably similar to the markers of intelligent activity." Later he writes, "The deeper they looked, the clearer it became that this was not a coincidence. The quantum code appeared to be aware that it was being observed." That's a bit frightening to me, and gave me a tenuous idea for a story. I've written one that delves a little into this subject long ago. "It's Too Late" The article also states, "While verification is ongoing, the CERN team has confirmed that all known safety protocols were followed and that the simulation itself remains contained." Uh huh. Do you believe that as much as I do? Also, that line itself tells me that this is just someone's imagination running wild. So I will close this by saying that there is No Proof of a Parallel Universe. Not Yet. But if there is one or more, we'll find it. I just hope that those who discover it follow proper protocols for their actions, and don't initiate something we're not prepared to handle. Then again, can we ever be even partially prepared should this occur? |
