Do you make cookies, candy, breads for family and friends during the holidays? If so, what's your favorite to make?
If you don't make treats, what's your favorite to receive?

For so many years I baked for the family but these days, I only cook for myself and my husband. The extended family are so scattered it’s a rare occasion when we manage to wrangle them in to one place. At Christmas especially.
The grandchildren are all adults with children of their own and have their own plans. But this year, on the 21st the majority of the family will come together for our diamond wedding anniversary, so I’ll take advantage and hand out their Christmas gifts at the same time. Four of my adult grandchildren, out of the six, will be there and all six of my great grandchildren. But sadly only one of our children—my daughter—as the other two live in other States.
The food is being catered so there’s no need for any of us to cook.

But back in the days when I did bake, I used to make apple pies, sponge cakes filled with cream and jam and at this time of the year I made fruit mince pies.
If anyone wants to make me something delicious, I love anything with lemon—lemon tart, lemon drizzle cake or my favourite, lemon meringue pie.
