I am an Education Major currently enrolled in college. I am also taking a Special Education class that has us doing research on how to better reach the parents and accommodate the children of various disabilities.

For reference, some are:

ADD, Dyslexia, Conduct Disorder, Auditory difficulties, Autism, etc…a wide range of things.

My topic is Down’s Syndrome.

While I have dealt with some disabilities in my time working with kids, I will admit my COMPLETE unfamiliarity with the topic I am assigned.

Knowing that writers in general are awesome people, I wanted to reach out to see if anyone could help me with my project.

I need NO PERSONAL information, just if you know anything about the disability, what would help a child adapt better to a classroom, something you wished they would have known for you, or a child you know.

The intent is to help by creating a brochure isn’t the right word…for other teachers that might help another teacher who has a student with the disability. I have to have a written presentation, Power Point AND talk on the topic for a minimum of 10 minutes.

While I could use my Google-Fu to come up with some of this, (and I will) I also wanted actual information from people who found someone doing something so very right…or wrong, and make what I have to create actually useful

Thank you for any time you can spare. I apologize for possibly the longest post I have ever put onto my newsfeed, but when i need info, I try to go to my people.
I can share a couple of basic ideas. Down Syndrome individuals are typically very sweet and happy people. They also tend to be outgoing as long as it isn't super severe and thrive on positive reinforcement. They enjoy being heard and being treated as an equal, even though IMHO many of them can be so much more beautiful than the rest of us!
Throws dropnotes across the site.

*screams* AND STAY THERE!!!

I cannot for the life of me figure out why they are not working. The last time I used them someone held my hand like I was three. Ok. This time I could do it...and they are not working. I checked the ML and such. Everything I am writing is write...On one, I got the note to work, just not putting the text inside it. It's blue and everything...and the text is underneath it.

did you remember to add the {/dropnote} after the part you want to hide. I have often forgotten it.
If you'd like some diagnostic help, put your source text (from the edit screen) in an email and send it to me.

I'd say post in tech support, but for this I'd need to see the source code, and email is easiest.
I've just edited an item in my portfolio:
 Serpent's Tongue  (13+)
The Cult of the Great Serpent

This was something I started during a WDC class and just connected the entries. It's a little strange, but it's still talking to me.

I've added a new entry to my book, "Rewrite of One Breath Away:
         "Invalid Entry

Because NaNo isn't enough, and 2020 wasn't stupid enough...I decided to completely rewrite my first novel.

Those that have read the original One Breath Away from Death that are interested in reading the rewrite, drop me a e-mail and I'll see about getting you into it.

Whoops. Here is the correct thing

Rewrite of One Breath Away  (13+)
Modern Day novel with Nathaniel

Would happily pay the GP for someone to send a NaNo winner MB to me for 2020. Hadn't planned it, but did complete it...and I can't award a MB to myself.

Send a message if you wouldn't mind!
Congratulations for finishing your second Nathaniel's Blueprint book.
Thank you so much!
Happy birthday!
Thank you for the wishes!

Offically calling my NaNo this year. 50, 796 words on 11/28/2020

Let's see if my Muse will let me rest now. Until my next unplanned NaNo...

If you are interested in reading it, let me know. It's got my same character, that like I said, if books weren't at a premium here, I might move it to it's own...I might even since they are.

Thanks for all the positive words. I appreciate it more than you all know.

I've just edited an item in my portfolio:
 Nathaniel's Blueprint Book Two  (18+)
Scenes/Background for my primary character. Not quite a second or expansion to the first

Finished NaNo2020. 50,218 words- November 21st.

Description of where it is in the item is in the...you know...item :)
1500 words. I can do 1500 words.

Muse don't fail me now.....
You *Hug1**hug**Hug2* can do this, go Loreli go. *Whistle**Wind*
Your almost past the winning post. *Heart*
You are so close...at 94%. You can do this!!
It's kinda interesting how much action scenes and probably really bad romance/erotica can take up words for a last stretch
