I'm not sure what age group your aiming at, a younger age MIGHT loose interest, however a more mature reader, I think, would enjoy this.
You're painting a picture with words but you also keep the story moving. I don't know if you read terry brooks or Tad williams, but they also have alot of description while moving the story along. To me it helps pull the reader into the story.
