I am a rationalist and opposed to all senseless rituals and superstitions. The option is that I am not superstitious but respect those who are so. In fact, I respect all but not for their superstitious beliefs. We need to fight against superstitions and evil practices that are based on superstitious religious beliefs. However, all superstitions are not harmful and we cannot completely eliminate all.. It is an interesting and useful poll.
Reading and writing are two main functions on WDC. Undoubtedly, everyone on the sight is an intelligent and rapid reader. I have the knack of quick reading and grasping. I used to visit a library for novels. The library boy would give me some books to choose. When he got time to ask me my choice, I would have finished reading all the books. Unless one can read fast and grasp, he can not read a good number of books and certainly not review or write comments. It is an interesting and useful poll.
I like to read poetry but I am more occupied with current events and social issues. I devote more time to reading news and articles on current topics and write comments on these. I like to read poems that are satire on social evils and current events. Real poetry is of course on erotica and romance. Some times, I read thse end enjoy. However, I seldom write poetry myself. It is an interesting and useful poll.
I do not even remember the titles of all books that I have read. It is too much to remember names of authors as well. But some books are really classic and authors are meritorious and are not easily forgotten. I remember usually the titles and authors names of the books recently read. But with passage of time memory fades and neither title nor author remains in memory. It is a good and thought provoking poll.
Love is blind and it is emotional. One is most emotional in teens. As one grows older, the emotions take the back seat and reason ushers in. A gown up's love is calculated love. I remember that as a teenager, I felt deep attraction for a girl a few years older. I would not like to be away from her even for a few minutes. I would be close to her after returning from school. My father was transferred to another place. Thus the brief teenage love story ended. It is an attractive and emotional poll.
Natural disasters like quake and floods kill millions of people. The calamities arise irrespective of number of people. Technological improvements and other factors help the world population to subsist. The world will go on whatever happens. If there is less vegetation, people will eat animals. Eating habits may change. Moreover, population is not arising rapidly in America, Europe and some other countries. China and India have successfully controlled the population growth. However, we should do our best to reduce numbers and bring prosperity to all. It is an interesting and educative poll.
Any taste is better than death. No taste appears to be the best alernative. all other tastes are extreme andwould be unplatable even though there would be no escape if the choice of 'no taste' were not available. The poll is very kind for giving this kind choice. I only hope that the thing is not poisonous. Of course, it should not be becauseit substitutes death. It is an interesting and intelligent poll.
Sendinga nasty email isdefinitely aprovocation. Retaliating to such email willgive the sender a feeling of victory. I will never give such a opportunity. I would rather ignore themail and continue as usual. If the sener continues with such nasty emails, I would cut off all links with the sender and the matter ends here. Itr is an interestingand usefulpoll.
It is for the electors to decide who should be the President. I am not a voter for American President. However, it is for George Bush to satisfy the voters about his genuine desire to rectify all shot comings and work in best interests of people and world peace. If the electors are satisfied, he may again be President.
In a way all advertisement is for promoting products, services or programmes. It involves certain degree of persuasion. The viewers are free to exercise teir own discretion. The act of persuasion through advertisements is genuine and cannot be characterized as brainwashing or hoodwinkng the viewers. It is a useful and interesting poll.
The smell of rubber is not so nice as to crave for it. The rubber articles like gloves, tires etc do not give any smell significantly. We do not feel the smell while using the rubber articles. But the rubber tires give intolerable smell when burnt. However, love of the smell of rubber seems a bit weird. But everyone has own distinct likes and dislikes. The poll is interesting.
Performance is more important than either education or experience. But these are necessary to enable performance. Education is must. Everyone on work has some education. Only level may change. Even if some one has no professional qualification, he would have some informal education. Experience is the process of putting the education to practice. One's education is really tested on work. Experience is nothing but the process of working, mistakes of own or others and corrections Both are necessary. It is a very practical and thoughful poll.
Friendship like love is more a matter of emotional needs and identity. It often happens that best friends have opposing opinions and interests but there is some undefinable bond between them .It is the natural instinct that makes tow to come closer and share their thoughts, emotions and interact and help each other. Friendship may quite often be deeper than love. It is an interesting and though provoking poll. .
I believe in international solidarity and believe all humans are same. So, I feel at home everywhere. However, I am more at ease in India, my native place. It is but natural that any one is habituated to certain sort of environment that consists of people, language, culture, cuisine etc. The poll is interesting and useful.
Love is the most intimate relationship. Extreme love destroys independent identities. The couples are then really one person with two bodies. Respect is more formal and less intimate. Respect is generally for elders, seniors, holy saints, people in authoritative positions. Love includes respect but it is informal. Respect may not include love. Sometimes, respect is out of fear and not love. Children respect teacher; litigants respect the judge and so on. It does not include love. The poll is very nice and thought provoking.
Religion has two aspects- beliefs and community. Personally, I have no belief in any organized religion and think independently. Accordingly, I have no religion. However, everyone belongs to certain community based on religion. Even if one is not a believer in any religion, he has to abide by social customs- marriage, divorce, inheritance, social rituals etc. So a distinction needs to be drawn between religion as such and religious community.
Rating without review carries no meaning. It indicates that those who cannot write themselves any thing- not even a review- should be rating others' work. If some one is unable to write a review or he is so lazy as not to attempt putting his opinion in words, he has no right to rate. Rating by such people are not meaningful. So, I view that Review should be compulsory and not optional.
The resources in material as well in terms of human- are limited and any wastage is unforgivable. It is a sheer waste to multiply same sort of stores in similar localities. There should be some restraint on opening of branches by consumer goods company, banks and other corporate entities. Unplanned expansion of business activities leads to surpluses and consequently recession. It is a nice thoughtful poll.
Whatever be the weight, physical exercise is necessary for good health. I do not actively engage in physical exercises. But I arrange my activities in a way that I have to walk, climb stairs etc. in usual course of the day. I do not use conveyance every now and then and do not use lift but use stairs. All this helps to keep good health and reduce weight.
Real life relations and chatting on net are two different activities and there is nothing wrong in chatting if it is limited to that. Cyb er world is different than real world. Whatever one says of sees on net should not be taken cognizance of in real life. Just as what a man reads or writes is not relevant to the spouse, so is internet activities. The poll is interesting and useful.
Cats are just pets whereas babies are members of our families and our descendants, successors and future citizens. It is not relevant to compare babies to cats. It would be okay to compare cats to dogs or other pets. We may buy or sell cats. The pets are just items like furniture, shoes etc. The poll is very interesting and enjoyable.
In fact, the universe is very vast and the knowledge is so vast that with our limited resources, we cannot know everything we are curious to know. Apparently, there is no limit to living human beings, animals, insects etc on Earth. As regards food, the living beings (including plants and vegetation) feed on other living beings. Thus the life cycle goes on. God, soul and spirit are just concepts and without basis. A living body consists of limbs and a brain, which is the controlling part like C.P.U. It is the brain (not soul) that controls the actions. When the system breaks, it is death. The question of any limit on number of souls or the vacancy in heaven and hell is just hypothetical and we need not bother. The poll is interesting and thought provoking.
There is no way to forecast things. The prophesies made in Bible and for that matter in other religious books are without any basis. In fact future is uncertain and things may happen in any manner. There is no predetermined plan nor is there any conscious power that would have decided the course of events in the unlimited span. So, it is futile to offer any opinion as it will be a wild speculation either way. The poll is interesting and thoughtful.
Really I hate nothing. Rather I dislike certain things. Eating at work place and during working hours is the most undesirable thing in my view. One can neither eat properly nor attend to the clients/ customers this way. It is not just eating but all things should be done at proper place and time. For example, I dislike anyone wearing religious symbols anywhere except at religious places. Any type of worship and using religious signs while on work and at work place is the most undesirable. The poll is useful and interesting.
There can be no advance planning in such matters. Such risky situations arise suddenly and it is only on spur of the moment that spontaneous decison is taken. Generally, one can do nothing as there is no time to think. In real fact, I would just collapse in such situation. thus it is possible that I faint and fall and the dangerous object goes ahead without noticing me. It is also possible that i may move upstairs or to some narrow place where I could hide myself. The poll is really interesting and dreadful.
