Wonderful, Sophy, but then almost everything you write is worth reading!

BTW, I'm thinking about entering the next contest. I'm not sure yet. We raised some squirrels and they were so funny. Now we feed them corncobs and have the feeders all over the yard to keep them out of the birdfeeders.
Again, great work!

Now that one really made me cry. But I cry when any animal is hurt, sick or killed. I belong to a lot of animal groups and even help out with petitions from PETA, though I'm not a member. The biggest cause for my alarm is the way chickens, cattlel and pigs are treated. If people knew how their meant was handled and the cruel way they are kept, everyone, like me, would be a vegetarian. That is a paraphrase from Paul McCartny.
I did love your story, it evoked a very deep emotion that I live with!
Love,
Lesley

Though I haven't finished "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie, " enjoyed what I read. I will be reading some more! It just takes me forever to catch up on email and enter contests. I've done okay with that. One of the first place awards was "Raccoon Kisses." I usually only write true animal stories like being attacked by an elk bull in rut. The non-animal stories are just stuff I wrote for contests.

I enjoyed your nice story about Calvin. I missread the first paragraph and thought Calvin was a child. I soon figured it out when I read about his orange ears. He seems so devoted to you and you are the Alpha in the house. Maybe he'll save you from a fire some dark night.

I feel your wonderful spiritual poem was ver uplifting. I always go to church on Christmas and Easter. The church is so crowded, it's standing room in the back and chairs in the isle. I always feel the strong prescince of the Lord in myself and the many others who came to worship.
Thanks for the upliftling poem.

Review of My Friends

Wonderful poetry! You really get across the value and support of your good friends. You seem like you must have a lot of close friends. I envy you because my friends all moved away and forgot about me. Be careful and don't let your friend or friends hurt your feelings or do something mean. Friends don't think it will hurt anyone and a good friendship has it s ups and downs.

Coco seems like the normal, everyday young girl. Mostly that is what she is. Yet she has odd feelings of being less important and mistrustful of true relationships. She tries to find someone to love only her, but hoped Jamie was different. He appreciated her in every way and seemed to understand her.
But when Coco and Jamie were about to be more romantic and started undressing, Coco realized that Jamie was only using her, just like the others.

She had an encounter with her sister, who wouldn't be home that night. So poor little hurt and damaged Coco, feeling hurt, rage, abandonment, hate and it was all turned inside. I think Coco is in need of a good shrink and meds. If not, she will hurt or kill herself and maybe others.
This story was so well written and the characters were so natural, I got caught up in the story. I didn't mean to analze the whole story. It was a great story.

Review of A Good Horse

I thought this was one of the same old horse stories. I love horses, but mules also donkeys are my passion. But your good horse story was as good as your brave and loyal friend, Monty. The best part was at the end when your son let out a yell and so, how much is a good horse worth? The World. Just the world.

Good Work, Robyn,

At first glance, though you meant it to be depressing, I don't see the poem as particularly depressing and I have been Bipolar my whole life. I know real, horrible, black pit, suicidal depression. When I read your poem, I didn't see depression, I saw truth. It's all true, not just for me, but anyone who knows how to read this sort of document. Maybe you did write it when you were depressed and wrote about how you happened to feel. Maybe you just had a breakup. I don't know.

The last verse sounds like me when I was living at home. Boy did they try to stiffle me and I have a lot of resentments for things they have forgotten. Oh well, who cares now, maybeme?

I think there is a quality in your poetry that seems like you are growing and getting better. BTW do you write short stories. They are easier to write, I think. I couldn't write a poem if my life depended on it, but I can read it.
Keep on writing

Review of Freezing Cold

I really did enjoy feelling how cold you guys were/are. It may get into the teens once or twice and freezes infrequently. I don't even own winter clothes and I'm wearing flip flops! We do still worry a lot about hurricanes. I think I'd like the cold weather if I could come inside and warm up. It would beat the howling wind, drving rain, the following tornados and then the biggest mess to clean up. Make sure you have a chainsaw and a generator down here in the land of swamps and marshes.

The conversation between the three of you is priceless. Sam saying it was racial discrimination to duck him under the water and then another man said, "This is racial descrmination to me. I'm an Eskimo." It is all like y'all were just outside by the pond, just bsing like most of us like to do. I think you may be a winner!

Keep on Writing!

Wonderul writing. I got to know the characters, the dialog was very believable. I understood what these two friends had been going through. I have a friend of two with similar beliefs. I believe it, as well, but don't explore the things they write me about. So I try to help with my writing and contacts.

The meal the two friends shared was emotional, to me. I could actuallly hear some of my friend, Beverly's, words come out of "The Masters" mouth. Some of the subjects discussed and the ending reminded me of Te Tao Te Ching. It was written 3,000 years ago and has been translated and published close to the Bible. It is filled with good wisdom and words to live by.

Lao Tzu, author of Te Tao Te Ching also discusses "unfettered friendship and pure trust as gifts, along with being who we really are, not who others expect of us. " I sounds a bit to me as if he is talking about corruption. I'm sure it was around 3,000 years ago.

As the Author says, which is beautiful, "Things are not always sunshine and roses, we have our moments of disageement. However the respect and honesty still holds true today as it did on May 11, 2001 when I finally found the courage to be completely honest with not only myself, but a very dear, very wonderful friend as well."

I loved reading your wonderful piece, Portait of Sumission, and will read it again at bedtime so I can put my head on my pillow and think about what this story has taught me. I wish everyone would read it and maybe we would treat each other with respect and love.

Review of "Dear Me"

The author's resolutions are so funny, yet so real, it's funny! I liked, "You can't change the laws of nature, so why not resolve this year to save me?" Well put! I like that one! I also loved, "...Together we can bask in the simple pleasures of life that cost nothing, demand nothing in return, and pays dividends that last forever. Find Me."

I love it!

What a poem! So free. yet always aware of the world. Here you are, high above these glorious creatures. It takes a lot of determination and a lot of confience to fly over the eagles. The part of the poem, and there are a few I like, is, "Racing through the wind, I never had a finish line. It's only time that you did." You have no boundries.

Review of Rapture
Review by Lesley Scott

Thid is a mystical/Si Fy storiy. I decicded to read it because I do volunteer work at the Raptor Center here is SC.. They can be dangerous and sometimes lethal. Their talons are longer than my fingers with a razor sharp end. Even Vultures are classes as raptors because they like to hunt and kill their prey.

The Ritual every years had to finally end. So Bill did what he felt he should do ---- completely put and end to such brutal sacrifices. "He kissed the blade and looked across the horizon. Despite what they do, despite what they are, he knew it was true. They only do this because they love us. An he had to end it.

The story is a good one, but I would change only a few little things. The ending could use some work. I don't think the last two sentences are necessary, but I wonn't be hurt if you don't change the ending.

Keep On Writing!

I really enjoyed your exciting story about the blood thursty Kalar. The fighting was gruesom and I read almost all of the epic story. You didn't take the coward's way out. I think you made a good decison to save yourself to fight another battle, with more chance od winning and less chance of being killed. I would never fight anyone. You could become a farmer!

What a good story! I feel that way a lot. It's like no body pays attention or nobody cares. You remind me a lot of myself. I have these uncontrollable anxiety attacks. I even once went to the emergency room because I thought I was having a heart attack! I found out I was Bipolar and the right doctor and proper meds saved my miserable life. Look at me now!

Review of The Nightmare

This particular poem caught my attenion immediately. It is written in a story type format, and the poetry tells the story. The author of this poem has captured the feelings of a young boy and his nightmare. I have nightmares almost every night, but not about monsters and demonds. I usually dream I lost something, I can't find help for something and things like that I call them, "Dilemma Dreams."

You are a talented poet and I'll bet you are also a great writer. We will probably enter some of the same contests, but I'm a good sport. I don't even wtite poety.Never have. How do you write poetry? Does it just come to you like my stories just pop into my head?

Lesley

Review of Eternity

I thoroughly enjoyed your poem, "Eternity." I shows a lot of imagination and thought. eternity described as a valley is a nice touch. I was surprised "Eternity" would be one of those religious poems telling us we go to heaven or hell for eternity. I don't want to go to either one. Eternity is too long for my ADHD!

I don't usually read science fiction, but there was something about your story that made me want to read the chapters. I loved the way you described all of the characters. They are so real, I feel I could touch them. Athenais impressed me with her strenght, fearlessness, and character. She want to help the three shifters regain the power they lost in Utopia. The three men wanted Athenais to help them find the millenium potion to help put Paul in charge and try to save the natives of the colony her father, Marceu was murdering them for the potion, and stealing the anticdote.
"I'm in!" She laughed.
You really do write a great readable story!
Keep it up!
I haven't read the next chapter. It is past my bedtime and my sight is blurred.

I flelt like I was actually there at the game. I could almost smell it! My dad filmed games for the Citadel for over 40 years.

I'm flattered for the Fanship! Exuse my writing, my fingers are sore and bleeding from a nasty parrot bite and my exotic rats from Africa, bit me and I can't make it stop bleeding. The key board ineeds a good cleaning, don't you think"

Bye for now. I loved your story and will read the others. I admit, I am impressed.

Wonderful! How did you learn to write like that? I've tried to write poety, but I do better on the other side of the fence! One of my favorite lines is:" I call myself the Great Creator," and not "The Great Destroyer." You must be evolving!

I had a silly question. I think I know a little about Bitems, but don't know how to decide where they should be placed. I've been her a while and asked others, but didn't get any answers that were any help. I want to enter contests once I learn how to find the prompt. How is that done? Thanks for your help

I loved Dan's poem. It wasn't to long, so i kept my concentration. It was so well written, I would love to write so well. I guess he paid more attention in college. I always write with simple words from habit.

I will continue to read the 3 part version in a bit. I stayed up ALL night yesterday and got in bed around 8 o'clock in the morning! I took my bedtime Bipolar meds, which put me to sleep. Well, I just got out of bed around 9:30am. Now, I have a whole day to make up for.

When my head clears up, I plan to write. I've spent so much time reading and reviewing, I haven't even had a thought to write!

Thanks,
L.
