No Restrictions "I can't believe we finally made it to Australia," The StoryMaster said as he pulled his wife in closer to him. They gazed out over the Sydney skyline and gave a sigh.
"And on Wattle Day," The StoryMistress said giggling before adding, "We'll have to order a plate of waffles to celebrate their first day of spring."
"And Writing.com's 50th Birthday," The StoryMaster added proudly.
"I still can't believe we took this time of the year to be away from home," The StoryMistress said, resting her head on her husband's shoulder.
"I still can't believe we're going as strong as ever. The kids are doing a great job of holding down the fort. I like this semi-retirement. I still get to putter and put in my two cents, but they've both been so good about taking it on. Our legacy is theirs as well." The StoryMaster gave a proud sign before adding, "I went over the contests set to start at midnight WDC time. There are a wack load. It's like everyone is stepping up this year."
"Our extended family," The StoryMistress mused. "I figured our 50th Birthday would be a big deal."
"I never thought we'd be so successful in this or so wide ranging. I think we've got writers from every English speaking country."
"The need to write never dies and having a community like ours.... one that supports itself with so many like-minded souls is inspiring for all of us," The StoryMistress said in quiet awe. "I'm always moved by our members comments and support. I'll never forget how they all rallied around us when our daughter was ill."
The StoryMaster nodded.
"It was like they lifted us up with their words. They got us through those dark times and all the other times in between."
"We are blessed, my love. So very blessed."
"Yes, yes we are."

Written for Writer's Cramp: September 1, 2025
New Prompt - the first one in this celebration week:
No doubt, Storymaster and Storymistress were the first two members registered on August 31 in the year 2000. On the day Writing.com went effectively live, no new members registered (that could be found at this moment).
Write a story or a poem that is set on Sept 1 - 2050; exactly 25 years from now. Picture them celebrating *Wattle Day in Australia somewhere. Easily transformed in WDC-Day I must say. Do they manage to interest people to start writing in the way they do now? Or are they retired, spending their lives in a different way?
Be creative, and use both fantasy and foreign as genres.
*Wattle Day is a day of celebration in Australia on the first day of September each year - which is the start of the Australian spring.
