BCOF prompt is " Would you or better yet have you done that to a friend in fun? What other silly things have you and a friend shared looking back on?
If you could write this friend an anonymous letter would they know by the situation that is was from you without you signing the letter?"

I've never heard of a national splashing in a puddle day. I guess I'm going to sound like a "Debbie Downer", but I've never had a close friend. I've only had one person that I was close to and now he's gone. As I said in another entry, it was my fault, and I drove him away. I do believe if I wrote him an anonymous letter that he would know that it was me......... The rest is too personal to write about.

News In My World!

Today and tonight has been rough on me......... I tried to read, edit the 2nd part of chapter 2 of my novel, and do some housework. All I managed to do was some laundry and run a few errands with my mom.

Have you ever had days where you felt like a failure? Have you ever felt like the world was against you? I don't mean to sound like a victium or that I'm trying to have a pity party to seek attention.

I'm going to go now. Dead Files on the travel channel is on. It's a really neat show. Y'all should watch it.

Bye for now!

BCOF prompt is " Is there anything you are a total nerd for? A TV show, a card game, a video game? You know a ton about it and love to watch/play it. If you do, tell us about it. If not, tell us why."

I guess I can say that I'm a nerd for a couple of things.

1. Lost In Space
2. Charmed
3. Supernatural
4. The Riffleman
5. Cake Mania games on the DS

I could write books on those four shows, especially about Lost In Space and The Riffleman. I'm rather obsessed about June Lockhart (Lost In Space) and Chuck Connors (The Riffleman). I could also write comprehensive manuals on the four Cake Mania games. They would be the books that give tips on how to beat the game.

Just to demonstrate what I mean, here's a tid bit of some behind the scenes trival on Lost In Space.

What vehicle did June Lockhart drive to the set of Lost In Space?
a 1913 fire truck

News In My World!

I plan on editing the second half of chapter 2 today maybe even start on chapter 3. I'm also looking forward to making pizza tonight. I'm also reading Out of Oz by Gregory Macguire, Fallen Hearts by VC Andrews, and will start reading Small Sacrifices by Ann Rule.

Bye for now!

BCOF prompt is "Tis better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all." Is this true?

You know I used to think that it was until I lost the love of my life. Now, I won't get too personal, but I've realized that after losing the love of my life after almost 14 years is painful to the core.............. It was my fault that it happened too.......... Now, I'm just trying to put the pieces back together again and maybe win his love back.

I can give this advice............... If you find that person who you love more than life itself, do whatever you have to do to keep that person. If you don't, you'll regret it for the rest of your life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

News In My World!!!!!!

I'm working on editing my novel for the last time before I start sending it out to publishers. I edited chapter one yesterday and will edit the first part of chapter two today (I may even edit the second part too). I have the last load of laundry in the dryer and plan on watching a movie today to relax (I can't write if I feel stressed). After that I may start on some more cleaning.

Question????? Has anyone tried Zumba fitness????? I've been thinking about starting it but wanted to find out if it has worked for anyone. It looks like a lot of fun......

The BCOF prompt "Is patience an attribute that you can acquire with practice or is it an innate ability in some people?"

I happen to think that it's a little of both. I have always had the ability to be patient in most areas of my life except for trying to lose weight. Working in the daycare field made me learn to be more patient with children and working various jobs helped me become more patient in dealing with people who are vastly different from me.

News In My World!

It's so cold here in Mississippi! This magnolia blossom isn't used to this kind of weather. My toes have been frozen since Sunday night. I really need to mop my floors, but I'm afraid if I do that I would end of with an ice skating rink in my house.

Today prompt for BCOF is "Tell us what kind of poetry appeals to you? Why? Which poet is your favorite? If you do not enjoy reading poetry why?"

It depends on my mood. I used to write poetry all of the time, and I've had about 30 of them published. However, I realized that I'm not any good at poetry. Just check out my port, and you'll know what I mean.

I do like the following poets.

1. Johnny Cash
2. June Carter Cash
3. Waylon Jennings
4. Kris Kristofferson
5. Edgar Allen Poe
6. Leonard Cohen

Now, I know what you are thinking! Those people aren't poets (except for Poe), but I beg to differ. To me, songwriters are indeed poets. They use rhyme, rhythm, and meter to write and compose music. Also, Cohen is a published poet who has written several books of poetry.

News In My World!

I know it's been a long time since I've written. I've been busy from July until this week. I've been traveling around helping some friends of mine sell t-shirts and selling Country Gourmet Home products.

Here are the places I went to in the last several months.

1. Philidelphia, MS (Neshoba County fair)
2. Biloxi, MS (wholesale show)
3. Tunica, MS (wholesale show)
4. Padukah (not sure how to spell it) KY (Chillin N Grillin)
5. Tupelo MS (Celebration Village)
6. Meridian MS (Frank Cochran center/arts and crafts fair)
7. Birmingham, AL (Christmas Village)
8. Jackson, MS (Handworks)
9. Back to Meridian MS to the Bonita Lakes Mall from Black Friday until Christmas Eve

Then from Dec 30th until Jan 5th, I was in Gatlinburg, TN for a well-deserved vacation with my friends. I'm planning on writing more about the trip in future blog entries.

Bye for now!

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is ""You're braver than you believe. Do you believe this too? When was the last time you were brave?"

I remember when I used to work at a Comfort Inn........ A man came in saying that he had a reservation. He did, but it was on a 4pm hold. He didn't come in until 7pm. The hotel had a full house, and I released the hold around 6pm because I had another customer to come in. For those who aren't familiar with hotel/motel lingo, a reservation with a 4pm hold means that the customer did give any credit card info, therefore, the customer has to come in by 4pm.

Anyway, I informed the customer that he missed the 4pm deadline. I then offered to call other hotels to see if they had any rooms available. He said okay, but after I made him a reservation at another place for him as he requested me to do. He started cussing me, slamming his fists on the counter, and even tried to come around the counter where I was. He got even angrier when I wouldn't give him my manager's cell phone number (we weren't allowed to give out personal numbers, the manager would have had my head).

I simply looked at him and said, "Sir, I need you to calm down.... If you don't, then I will have to call 911."

He slammed his fists down once more then left....... Another two hours rolled around (it was about nine pm), he came back.......

At first he was jumping around and kicking the chair in the lobby, I said calmly, "Sir, may I help you?"

"Why couldn't I get a reservation for the rest of the week?"

"I will be more than happy to see if we have a room available for the next couple of days."

I checked the availability for the next couple of days. We had one room available. I told the customer that.

He told me to go ahead and book the room. However, he then thought he should get a lower rate for some reason. He was already getting the lowest rate the hotel offered.

When I didn't give in to his demands, he threw his business card at me to give to my manager and left. Now, the other desk clerk was scared out of her mind, she was new and had never had to deal with an unruly customer.

To me this was a lesson in how to remain calm when dealing with not so nice people........ I figured if I would have lost my cool and went down to his level that the situation would have escalated into something much worse.

I'm not sure if this was bravery or not, but it does take a little guts to deal with people sometimes.

Your 2 Cents prompt is "One thing you love but everyone you know hate?~why"

I love getting veggie burgers and tofu. Most people I know won't even try it. However, I've snuck it to some of the dishes that I've made for church lunches and suppers. They didn't know the difference and have even complemented me on those dishes. *Wink*

News In My World!

I'm watching Hardcore Pawn on Tru TV. Those people are crazy. The family who owns that pawn shop are constantly at each other's throats, especially the brother and sister. I could never talk to my family like that........

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is " Which are more important in the world: writers and thinkers or scientists and inventors?"

I think it takes all kinds to make the world go round. Everyone has their own unique talents and abilities. Without all four of them, we would have nothing. A writer inspires a thinker, then a thinker inspires inventors who often inspired and work with scientists. It a complete circle that helps make the world go around...........

Your 2 Cents prompt is "Explain why or how you are judgmental."

I used to be really judgmental when I was in my teens and twenties. I used to be a real snob to people who weren't like me, and I also used to think that never did anything wrong......

Since I've rededicated my life to God, I've seen the error of my ways. We aren't supposed to judge any one because no one is perfect. We are all sinners and have come short of the glory of God.

There are two sayings that keep me from being judgmental.

1. When you point your finger at someone, there are always three pointing back at you. (My grandmother told me that one, but it didn't stick with me until I was almost 30.)

2. There's something about that person that I don't like about me...... Dr. Phil said that one, and I think it is so true. We need to look within ourselves before we judge others.

News In My World!

I'm watching "Under the Dome" on CBS. It's based on a novel by Stephen King. It's been pretty good so far.

I also read a good cookbook today. It's called Entertaining: Inspirations For Your Table.

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt "Can people change? (did you change; views, philosophies, routines, countries etc)"

Yes, people can change. It doesn't happen overnight. I think that's what people seem to forget. If you just open up the Bible, you'll read it all over it. Saul became Paul, the woman at the well, Mary Magdelane (I think that's how the name is spelled), and most importantly, when Christ gave his life for us was the biggest change of all.....

I think people (including myself) tend to what it to happen right now and want instant gratification. Hey, we're only human, right? I also think that people are afraid of what the change may bring. Maybe, you don't like what change brings and don't want to see what's before you.

Dr. Phil made a comment similar to this......."People tend to have their minds so stuck on what was until they refuse to see the changes happening before them." Now this isn't an exact quote, but I think this is the case for most people. I know I've been like that before.........

I will warn you if you go about a radical change. There will be people who won't believe it.......Others will even critize you for it because it's not what they are used to........... People often cling to the idea that they already have of you............ Don't let that get you down.....Keep striving to be a better you.............. If the people around you refuse to see it, just keep on keeping on........ God will see it, and He sees everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

News In My World!

I don't have much to say......... My finger is a little better tonight......... I'm behind with reviewing and editing my novel........ I'm just depressed right now........... I know that I have to keep telling myself that God is with me and will see me through this because He wouldn't have me to go through anything that I can't handle................

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is "Write a review of your life — or the life of someone close to you — as if it were a movie or a book."

A review just isn't popping up in my head right now, but I can see parts of my life as a movie. A musical to be more exact.........

Casting my soulmate would be hard because he's better looking than all of the actors out there. However, Rutger Hauer (he's on True Blood as Warlow) comes to mind. He's got that rugged appeal.............

Now for myself, Catherine Zeta Jones comes to mind. I know that I'm not in good shape like she is, but my face kind of looks her face does. Also, we have similar singing voices, very sultry and husky.

Our romance would be really steamy to portray......... I've also been listening to some songs that would be perfect for the movie.

The movie would open with Rutger Hauer either singing or lip syncing Send Me An Angel by Scorpions. He would be in a room with a computer at first then the scene will shift to him meeting Catherine Zeta Jones at a lake.

Here's a list of them....... The songs that are duos would be sung by both actors.

1. Partners In Rhyme by Al and Isla Grant
2. I Heard The Bluebird Sing by Al and Isla Grant
3. I'll Be Faithful to You by Al and Isla Grant
4. A Dream Come True by Isla Grant (solo for Zeta Jones)
5. After All These Years by Al and Isla Grant
6. I'm On Fire by Bruce Springsteen (solo for Rutger Hauer)
7. Lust to Love by The Go-Gos (solo for Zeta Jones)
8. Love In the Hot Afternoon by Gene Watson (solo for Rutger Hauer to be sung after Send Me An Angel but it would be changed some)

Now, these songs would be in the sad times (Yes, we had ups and downs just like any other couple)
1. There's Nothing New I'm Missing You by Isla Grant (solo for Zeta Jones)
2. Living In My Mind by Isla Grant (solo for Zeta Jones)
3. Help Me Make It Through the Night by Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash (duet between the two, but in different scenes shown on the screen at the same time)
4. I Still Miss Someone by Johnny Cash (same as number #3)

I think my movie/musical is going to be one of those longer movie that would be considered for an Oscar............Look out Le Mes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is " How short would your life have to be before you would have to start living differently today?"

I think life is short to begin with........ I don't think you have to think in matters of days, weeks, months, years, ect............. We all only have a short amount of time when it comes to thinking about how long the world keeps going on.............

These are things that I think about when it comes to living my life to the fullest.

1. Remember that God is always with you.

2.As the Bible says, "Love thy neighbor as thyself".

3. Choose your battles.

4. Material things aren't important, and you can't take them with you.

5. Don't sweat the small stuff.

News In My World!

Don't you hate when people argue over stuff like being on facebook? I could understand if a person was on there day and night, but casual use, I think is fine as long as a person conducts his or herself in a manner that would be pleasing to God.

1. I have never used it as a dating site. (I'm already in a relationship, so I wouldn't do that anyway).

2. I play the games on there occasionally, but I've never let them take over my life. (Besides, I only game I really liked called Vampire Wars isn't on Facebook anymore)

3. I like to do good things like sign up for samples (like travel size toothpaste and shampoos), get coupons from area restaurants, enter sweepstakes. Now some say, "Why not go to the company website?" Most of the time a company will only offer these things on their facebook page.

I just wanted to get this off my chest and maybe I will be understood.

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is "Write an A-Z poem".

I know I'm coping out, but I'm simply not a poet. I tried all day to write this kind of poem, but it just didn't come together............

News In My World!

I'm watching a documentary about Marylin Monroe on HBO........ It's pretty interesting....... I'm not feeling very well........... My oldest child and my youngest child (my dogs but I reguard them as my children) are very restless and keep playing past their bedtime!

I'm feeling kind of sad tonight too.............. I understand how Marylin Monroe felt.........

Creative people are rather sensitive, well more than others I think........ If they weren't, they wouldn't be so talented......... That's just my opinion, and I'm sure many of you will disagree, and that's okay...............

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is "What historical time period would you live in that you have not previously lived in? (i.e. if you've lived in the 70's you can't say you'd like to live then)"

I would choose the early 60s......... I would have loved to have met my soulmate when he was in high school and going to prom with him would have been great too............. We could have attended the same college and then gotten married, have kids, and a house with a white picket fence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is "Describe your ideal dress: what clothing/outift do you feel best expresses who you are?"

I wore a beautiful black dress tonight at the benefit concert with long diamond (not real) earrings. The highlights in my hair shone just right under the lights in the church. My shoes had diamonds too. My mom had on a black top and a shirt with black and green (she had on black shoes too). Mom had on long diamond earrings too.

We did a great job on the song "Looking for a City". The night was great, and the dress went with my personality.

Other News In My World!

I've realized that I have a problem.......... It's been pointed out to me that I don't show my emotions enough............... I thought I did.............. My soulmate doesn't think I show my emotions enough.............. I love him more than anything on this earth!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish he could see what's inside................

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is "What do you suppose you might be doing at this exact moment if the internet had never been invented?"

Oh, that's easy! I would be reading or watching tv. When I was young (back in the dark ages, LOL!), I read all the time (probably books I shouldn't have been reading when I was a child/teen). I read every horror novel I could get my hands on (I still do, but I read other types of books too, especially my Bible and my Sunday school book).

News In My World!

I went to a meeting for the mission's trip. It was basically going over the vacation bible school material for that week. Mom and I did get to practice for the benefit concert too. We needed to practice with the mic and sound system. It went pretty good. I just hope it goes just as well at the actual concert tomorrow night.

I went to my appointment this afternoon. I'm going to have to go to another clinic and have test done on the 27th and just go from there.

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is "Who is your hero?"

My soulmate is my hero. He showed me that I'm not trash, and that I'm worth loving. Before meeting him, I was in a very bad place. I was so depressed and had a very low self esteem. I thought I was so ugly, and that no one would even want to look at me............. I had a drinking problem too, but I quit cold turkey after meeting him. He took away the pain of the past................

News In My World!

Mom and I are continuing to practice the song "Looking For a City" for the benefit concert Thursday night. Our practice was pretty good tonight.

I don't know if I told y'all this, but I finally finished reading "The Stand" by Stephen King (my dad also read this too). I also finished reading "Heaven" by VC Andrews. I've read 30 books this year so far. I really hope that I can read 70 more by the end of the year.

I'm stuck on editing chapter 13 of my novel. I'm hoping to start back editing my novel this weekend. This week has just been so busy. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow (I'm worried about what the outcome will be). I have the benefit concert Thursday night, and then I have a Pampered Chef party to go to Friday night.

I'm working getting stuff that I need for the mission trip too. The only things that I need are samples of hairspray, laundry detergent, and two cosmetic bags (to hold the samples in). I'm trying to pack as light as possible. I'm very excited about the trip though, and July 6th will get here in no time.

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is "What would you like to be different about BCOF, if anything? If you don't want anything to be different, what's your favourite part?"

I like everything about BCOF except for the image prompts. However, I've seen that it's been done away with. I usually get excited about seeing what prompt I get to write about next, and I love getting comments on my entries. I still have got any comments on a past entry titled "Interview with a Clown". It was my favorite.

I couldn't tell what this was............ I guess I'm not that bright........... I'm usually told that I'm not the brightest crayon in the box.

News in my world!

My mom and I have been practing on the song "Looking For a City" by The Goodmans. We are going to sing that song at the benefit concert at my church to raise money for the mission trip to go to Canada. This concert will be Thursday night.

I'm going through this big change for reasons I won't discuss here..... Sometimes, I just wish people would like/love me for me....... I don't expect others to make huge changes for me......... I like/love them for who they are............

Some of the changes that I'm making aren't that bad........... As a result, I've also learned a lot about various subjects like music and poltitics.

I can't wait to go to Canada in July (6th-13th). I've never been out of the country before. I also like the fact that I will be telling other about God too.

Blogging Circle of Friends and Your 2 Cents prompt "Trying to Improve Myselt".

I've been trying to improve myself for quite some time now, but it seems like all of my efforts are wrong. Now, I've change a lot of the things I like: music, tv, some of the books I read, and even some of the foods I eat.

I've been listening to some doo woop music. I hope the Everly Brothers, Rosemary Clooney, The Fleetwoods (from the late 50s I think), Perry Como, Andy Williams, and Nat King Cole count. I wish my dad were here. He could tell more about this type of music. My dad is the reason I know about the Everly Brothers (because we used to listen to them together). Do Frankie Avalon and Anette Funicello count? I like them! (I'm having a Johnny Cash withdrawl though)

I'm reading a book called "The Politician" by Andrew Young. It's about the John Edwards scandal. This is part of my self-improvement. However, I've been reading this for awhile, and I'm halfway through it. It's a good book, and it has inspired me to read more political books. I will admit that I can't stay away from Stephen King and VC Andrews books.

I'm trying to change what I watch on TV. I have to admit that I'm a sucker for cooking shows.
When the new TV season comes back on, I've made a vow to watch the crime shows like CSI (both of them), NCSI, and Criminal Minds (I have been watching this on A&E, and it's interesting, but it goes over my head (I've been writing down the words that I don't understand and Googling them). I wish my dad were here because he could help me understand the crime shows (He was a deputy sheriff for a couple of years). I watch Supernatural, Bates Motel, Duck Dynasty, and Little Honey Boo Boo and hope that those crime shows don't interfer with my favs. I also forgot I 'm going to watch The Following and The Mentalist too. I'm having Chuck Connor (the Riffleman) and June Lockhart (Lost in Space) withdrawls big time!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what movies I should watch........... I have stopped watching horror movies (I've been having big withdrawls from them).

Now, the foods that I eat are going to be a challenge. You see I have food allergies (mostly wheat and corn, but I'm a little senstive to dairy also). However, I did try a steak cooked medium rare (I usually like them very well done). The medium rare steak was okay. However, I only eat steak two-three times a year (I can't afford them any more than that). My dad ate steaks medium rare..... I know y'all are sick of me talking about my dad, but I can't help it. I miss him...............

I wanted y'all to look at this blog entry. I thought it was creative. "Interview With A Clown

I miss hearing from my soulmate too............... I just wish he would e-mail me...........

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is "Interview your favourite fictional character. What questions do you ask and what do you imagine they reply?"

I stared at the red haired, white face, red lip, being with a clown suit on. It smiled a supsious smile.......

I halfway studdered the first question: Do you still live off of the fear of little children?

Its lips turned from a smile to a frown: Why am I always asked that? That damn Stephen King ruined my life! Of course, I don't live off the fear of children..

I shallowed the lump in my throat: So, you're just a harmless clown..........

It pounded its first on the arms of the chair: I hate being referred to as a clown..... There goes that damn Stephen King again....... He made me out to be a clown that wears riduculous clothes....... I'm a female for goodness sakes! King knows that , but he screwed with my gender to fill his pocketbook.

I leaned back in my chair: Okay, Pennywise........ Tell me your real story then.........

The clown's hair changed to brown: My real name is Penny.

I smiled.......My name is also Penny.

The clown changed into a woman who looked like me........ Of course, it is....... I'm you, and I live off of your fear.......

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is "What's one of the stupidest things you've ever done?"

There are several things that combined into the stupdiest thing I've ever done.

I skipped my senior year to become a college freshman. Now, some may say this meant I was smart. Well, yeah, maybe, but I missed out on a year that's supposed to be fun. A year where teens get to make decisions about where they want to go to college and what they want to major in. My parents made me go to college early and told me what to major in (English and History education). Of course, I obeyed them. I didn't have a choice.....

Well, I spent years changing my major as a result because I was never happy........ I dropped out of college after about 4 years and worked jobs that only paid minimum wage. Jobs that I hated!!!!!!!

I did go back to college after a 4 year break, but it wasn't the same....... I did get a two-year degree in Accounting, but I didn't really like being a business major. My heart always belonged to Music and Theater.

If I could go back to being 17, I would at least, persue a major in Music. I could have put Music down on the paper during orientation, but I was too scared of what my parents would think..... My parents actually said that they wouldn't have anything to do with me......... They were serious too........

However, I know that life is full of choices, and that God has a plan for us all..... I just think now that maybe all that has happened has been His will after all. In other words, I'm not bitter.

There is one other thing that I did that I would even rate higher than this, but I don't think I'm ready to talk/write about it yet. Maybe, I will at another time.........

Your 2 Cents prompt is "Worst anything (movie, book, televison show, vacation destination, restaurant, tennis shoe, whatever)"

This is an interesting topic...... I will tell you what movie I can't stand, and it will probably surprise you all....... I think that "The Notebook" is about the worst movie ever made! It was way too sappy! So sickeningly sappy until it made me want to vomit! I just can't deal with Nicholas Sparks books/movies. Nights In Rodanthe was the only movie that I could stand to watch. I've never read his novels because the back cover blurbs make me just roll my eyes.

Other News In My World!

I'm watching a movie on Lifetime. I don't know the name of it, but it's about a girl who wrote some stuff about a group of popular girls, and it finally gets back to those girls what she wrote. As a result, the popular girls beat up the girl.... I mean beat her up bad... They gave her a concussion, damaged her eye, and busted her ear drum.

I have a zero tolerance for bullying! I was bullied in junior high. However, I fought back! Not that it was neccessarily the right thing to do because it just made it worse. I finally figured out that bullies tend to love a good fight with the underdog.........

Blogging Circle of Friends prompt is "What's the most significant secret you've ever kept? Did the truth ever come out?"

This is a personal topic for me.......... I don't feel comfortable revealing it completely, but my soulmate knows about it. He's the only person who ever really listened to me (however, I met him long after the fact). This was part of the pain that my soulmate took away from me, but it did take a long time. I'm just glad that he didn't give up on me.

I tried to tell my mom about it when it was going on, but she wouldn't listen. She didn't believe me.......

Your 2 Cents prompt is "I want to change_______ about myself."

I want to change my eating habits. I'm working on becoming vegan (to a certain extent). When I go for any length of time without eating meat and dairy, I tend to lose weight and have more energy.

This prompt reminds me of the song "Changes" by David Bowie.

Other News In My World!

I had a great lunch today. I had 2 mushroom veggie burger patties (I can't eat the bun.), baked fries, and made a french fry sauce called Hickory BBQ Fry Sauce. It's made with the seasoning mix, ketchup, and mayo. I use the ketchup that doesn't have corn syrup and low fat mayo. You can find this fry sauce mix at http://www.mycountrygourmethome.com/pcockrell
