In my view, the primary focus should be on encouraging the writers to write. I do not review items I don't enjoy anymore because I see it as a waste of my time. So, if you get a review from me, I enjoyed reading your work. The amazing thing about this whole process is that reading an inspiring review usually leads to me reading more of a reviewer's work also. So, it's a win-win.

I will not review...
something I do not like. I do not enjoy writing hyper-critical reviews. I do NOT believe that "honesty" is a synonym for "mean." If I see someone being "mean" here on the public reviewing page, in group behaviors, or just acting as a bully I will not send them my reviews. The only exception to that would be judging a site contest - there all items get honest (and hopefully diplomatic) reviews of the work from me with no exceptions.

You sent me a nice invitation in my notebook, so I woke up and came and looked around. I think I will have fun here, too, with my reading adventure.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I thought about the rabbit who used to live next door. She was red and her name was Lucy. Boo loved her when Boo was a puppy. She would give Lucy kisses at the fence. It is a happy memory of me and Tom taking Boo to the fence to give Lucy kisses. Then Lucy would be trying to wash off the puppy smell. LoL

I don't think it was as much fun for Lucy as it was for us and Boo, but she was a good sport. She was larger than Boo because she was a big chubby rabbit at that time. *Rabbit* *Dog1* *Heart*

I think you make a good choice for a book to be trapped in. That could lead to all kinds of fun and adventures!

I like how you say how you would talk to the characters and straighten the troublemakers (like Wickham for instance) out.

This made me wonder if Jane Austen ever daydreamed about talking to her characters and interacting with them. Very creative! I enjoyed reading this and thinking about this book. I would like to get a big print version of it.

*Thumbsupgreen*We are off on a great new campfire adventure. May the force be with us.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

It warms my heart to see this photo of Tom and I on our wedding day. It was the happiest day of my life. We had a good life, going to Ireland five times and in later years with our Boo.

I miss him so much, but it is comforting to think of him well and happy.

I think this campfire will continue to give us joy. It gives me a reason to be here, which is a good thing. I can look through our previous campfires and see exactly what went on during hard times and good times. Our last few campfires have had losses for both of us. But we are still trying and we still have faith and hope.

When I read through the time about Tom's passing, it reminds me of how hard it was for him and how he is now in heaven and at peace. And I get signs here that tell me that he is okay and waiting for me with our Boo at the end.

It helps me to not feel as alone as I do sometimes so it is a therapeutic exercise, but it's also a reminder of what we went through.

Thank you for hosting another wonderful campfire. I look forward to writing in it every day I am able.

I was not the judge, but was interested to see what you wonderful writers would do with my prompt.

What does HOOves think about and contemplate while perusing your item?

You took it in a direction that never occurred to me, but I think it's brilliant. It's amazing how inspired writing can come from the suggestion of a title about the landscape. Of course, there are settings all over the place to be incorporated.

Writing about the sad political situation in the Middle East is poignant and a reminder of what people face in our world. This proves that you don't need a lot of words or lines to say a great deal in a moving and profound way.

What does tHiNG think about while perusing your item?

This was timely for me as I recently suffered a loss that is similar and devastatingly close. Mine is pretty recent and I am in Grief Counseling. I think that you capture a lot of the emotions I feel, like regret and the desire for more time because I didn't use the time I had wisely.

My Grief Counselor has suggested that I, too, write about or to the person I have lost.

You captured the feeling that I wish I had known then what I know now. But life isn't like that. I never worried about the right things, it seems.

What Does THiNG think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea*I think this is a wonderful poem of remembrance, particularly significant as we approach the anniversary of the event. We mark our lives in years lived and try never to forget and appreciate all that was sacrificed.

What does THiNG applaud about while reading your item?

This part was particularly poignant for me:

"upon the ground made sacred
by their sacrifice."

I never knew the significance of a single flower until now. It seems more than fitting and appropriate. Something so basic and yet so heartfelt is memorable in its simplicity.

Sometimes to be more direct iw what the situation warrants.

*Cool**Idea*I am all in favor of eating vegetables. Avoiding meat (especially beef) appeals to me.

I liked your stern admonition at the end. It reminded me of my Dad and made me smile. He didn't like vegetables, as a rule, but ordered me to eat mine.

*Cool**Idea* I thought about the astrological aspects of characters in a way I never thought of before. Very revealing when it comes to when a character was born.

A Lovely Signature for me

*Thumbsupgreen*I thought I would send a nice review for our lovely new campfire before writing in it.

What does tHiNg think about while perusing your item?

I thought about all our campfires and how this is something that I come back to and reread periodically. We went through the pandemic (as you point out so well) and a lot of things. Hard things, but we still try and write in the campfire and say some positive things about what we are doing.

We have both had health challenges and so have our beloved ones. Cancer treatment is something I never fully understood until this past year.

Also, I could read through and read about how much we tried to take good care of Boo and how things went downhill so fast at the end. It felt terrible at the time, but what I wrote there has helped me to cope with the loss.

Maybe it will help again going forward. You never know.

I think it is a good thing and thank you so much for hosting these campfires and keeping them going. Many times that invitation to write in my email has perked me up when I log in here in a way that nothing else does.

So, thank you my friend. One day I won't be here or anywhere, but this is a record of how our days went during difficult times and how we coped. It matters a lot to me and I love the pictures you have chosen and the title, too.

Here's to many more entries and writing that might live on a little while at least after I'm gone.

*Thumbsupgreen* I am doing the I Write activity and you posted before me. It is my pleasure to read and think about your article about the attempt to repopulate the environment in certain areas with saber toothed cats.

What does tHiNg think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea*I think that when man interferes with nature it is a precarious proposition because humans rarely think about all the consequences down the line of their actions. Blaming it on aliens sounds like what the scientific community does every time they do something that has long term, negative consequences.

Somehow, the people that make these blunders never bear the consequences of their actions personally it seems.

Alligators have survived a long time, but no one thinks they should be allowed all over the place. I wonder what happens when the reindeer populations suffers and they are then extinct.

I guess it creates a chain of events that can have dire results over time.

What does tHiNg applaud about while reading your item?

If I were a saber toothed cat, I would feel like I should be saved no matter what. I guess it all depends on your perspective, as is the case with most things. Maybe it is a matter of tunnel vision, rather than not caring.

Some scientists only see what they want to see at the time. Then they make adjustments later as an afterthought.

I thought your article was very interesting and I hope the reindeer everywhere can find a way to carry on.

What does tHiNg think about while perusing your item?

In this poem, you combine lines from the poetry of other writers.

You weave the words together to tell a tale about brighter days ahead when the world seems bleak. This is well suited to the time we live in right now as the world mourns a beloved Queen.

I wasn't sure about the title being The Remix, but it suits the hopeful finish very well.

It fit the mood of the day today and the lines seem meant to be together. It looks like it is seamless, but I imagine this took a lot of time and work reading through the poetry of others. I wonder if you set out to write about current events since it seems to fit the times so well.

I thought about that commercial that used to say something like the ecstasy of victory and the agony of defeat. I think one has to experience obstacles and hardships along the way to a great success. This is true in the physical sporting world and elsewhere, too.

The message is to always keep trying because great things can be just around the corner. So, persistence is the key to ultimate victory and success.

The gentle humor about the marbles beings lost is amusing. This seems like the sort of mishap that might lead into a longer adventure somewhere along the way. I could see it as the opening to a mystery that Sherlock Holmes might solve.

It made me remember when I was young and how Mr. HOOves and I were married close to Valentine's Day. You have effectively portrayed the excitement and what it is like to be young and in love.

Lots of romance and details about the family and evening set the scene very well! Youth is such a fleeting, precious time of life, but we never quite realize it fully while it happens.

The ultimate power is definitely to control the weather. That has more of an effect on a great number of people than controlling any other aspect of life. Doing it with a wave seems at first to be ideal. Then I thought about the power in the wrong hands and where that might lead.

It made me think about it and about how much I appreciate when the weather cooperates with living and doing things. We never know when obstacles will be thrown at us and really the weather is doing what it's always done.

Of course, I like any mention of a "hand". The hand is in charge here, with the ability to change everything. I appreciate the notion that power corrupts and brings temptation along with ultimate downside of having one's wishes granted.

It seems like all the words were carefully selected, I didn't see anything that didn't fit with the message conveyed to me as a reader.

You might want to pick a third genre, besides "Fantasy" and "Dark" like Environment or something else so that when people look for things to read in those genres, searching they find your poem. It might lead to more reviews and readers is what I'm suggesting.

Fine work - I enjoyed reading this and thinking about it.

What does tHiNg think about while perusing your item?

As I was reading, the suspense was building. I admit I didn't know where you were going with this. I won't give away the ending.

You might want to select more genres than just Action/Adventure, but ones that won't give away the ending. Maybe Drama would be a good choice, too? And maybe Experience or one of the others. It's good to select three as you will have people who search in genres for things to read.
