Thunder

Thunder

Thunder always happens when it’s raining
or so sang Fleetwood Mac
Yet who can hear the soft fall of an English drizzle
when the memory takes one back

Or the grey veil of downpour in the distant hills
rumbling in the midst of African drought
and the cat hiding under the bed
from storms you know nothing about.
